Turning_track
The state & central govt's don't care about the pollution anymore. This lackadaisical attitude against the biggest challenge which India is facing is somehow considered normal in our country. Otherwise a lot of concrete steps should've been taken till now for the ordinary citizens of India whose cities consistently feature among the most polluted cities list in the world. Less said about the water pollution the better. Edited November 4, 2019 by Turning_track FischerTal and Real McCoy
Moochad
Shows how much further Swacch Bharat has to go. We need central action on this, as many of the pollution issues are across multiple states therefore state governments will pass the buck to each other. zen
The stupidity is also in allowing the river to become such polluted .... a self respecting country should not allow itself to pollute at such levels Real McCoy and FischerTal

Bellandur lake in Bengaluru..... The area around Belandur lake is full of Northies :) Jokes apart, that area in Bengaluru is one of the most densely populated and the people in general need to regulate the use of detergents/soaps before discharging the waste water into lakes. Hope somebody does a study on the cancer & other illness rates around that area Edited November 5, 2019 by diga Real McCoy

Incidentally, around 40% of 1,800 households surveyed in eastern Bengaluru (where the water body is located) were found to be using at least five kg of detergent in a month.
