If Pakistan manage to win/draw series in Aus 2019, would it impact Kohli’s accomplishment?

Kohli has had the best bowling attack in India’s history. In fact this is collectively one of the best pace attacks of all time.

In terms of batting we are also one of the best lineups in the world.

However, we still managed to muck up in SA and England.

In Aus while we did win a historic series, we still managed to lose a test and the final margin was  2-1 could have been 3-1.

That has over shadowed Kohli’s prior bad moves overseas and also in limited overs cricket.

If the current Pak team that no one rates beats a Smith/Warner Aus team or draws the 2 test series, would we have to revisit Kohli’s accomplishment.

Read my words carefully, I am not taking anything away from the batsmen or bowlers who made it happen but Aussies were there for the taking and we shouldn’t have lost even 1 test which we did due to poor team management.

Yes, if Pak win, it would be a bigger achievement than our win last year. SL's win in SA this year also shows how SA has weakened and why our loss last year should rankle. Pak also drew 2-2 and 1-1 against a similar Eng team that we lost to 4-1...so yes, our SENA record has been below par. But i also believe our pace attack really matured from Oz series onwards - in SA and Eng Bumrah and Shami were still not at peak. That's why the next 1.5 yrs is so crucial for Kohli's legacy.

TBH Aus winning the Ashes in England immediately after comeback of Smith and Warner has already taken sheen off that series win. Will always be a historic series win for us but now with a *Aus were missing Smith and Warner, their two best test batsmen

On Pakistan, well they will be lucky to win a couple of sessions, will consider it a moral victory if they can give Aussies a good fight to have respectable losses.

There is no * attached to it at all, that is all in minds of few people who want to discredit Kohli's team. Kohli did not ask them to get banned and he has no control on who play for the other team.

It could also be said that India's test series win in Australia, in 2018-19, has made the Asian teams believe that that they too can win test series on the bouncy tracks of Australia and South Africa.

Our win was path breaking in that way.

Apart from having a team which is better or atleast comparable to the opposition ... wins depend largely on the belief that " I can win ".

Our test series win in Aussie land has instilled that in all Asian teams, including us, regarding test series wins on the bouncy tracks of Australia and SA.

India missed both Bumrah ( in the first 2 tests that we lost in England )  ... and Bhuvi  ( who would be ideal in tests in England ) in the test series in England in 2018.  No one is saying that it dilutes their series win or excuses our loss.  Same regarding Smith and Warner missing in that test series.

England was also missing Anderson. Warner did zilch in Ashes. Bumrah would have taken care of Smith. Aus didn't win Ashes. It was a draw.

Not sure what you are trying to say.

If you want to keep believing that Aus with Smith and Warner would have made no difference to the outcome of the series. On Warner's Ashes performance in England, look at Warner's record in Australia.

I said Australia 'won the Ashes', read that again.
