Forward Defence
Practicing with the pink ball in twilight conditions can be ideal practice before England tours. Regarding players getting hit, it is surely a safety concern. God forbid if some casualty takes place, it would leave everybody devastated. Link to comment

It’s a matter of time the visibility with pink is poor . And 140 might be like 160 for most players . if india would face say an archer - imagine if kohli was concussed . It’s a matter of when and not if - if this nonsense pink ball continues Forward Defence 1 Link to comment

express bowling
There have been 11 Day / Night tests held in the last 4 years before this Eden test. The Eden test 2019 is the 12th D/N test. Don't think their have been many complaints about either playing with the pink ball or issues regarding player safety. Bangladeshi batsmen have woeful techniques against the short ball. Their footwork is not upto the mark and they don't keep their eyes on the ball if it is dug in short. This factor, coupled with some high quality fast bowling by us, have resulted in so many hits to the head and body. Multiple hits to the head and body are rather common in test matches against good fast bowling attacks. This has been the case for the last 60 years or more even with the red ball. It is important for players to practice with the pink ball and get acclimatized. Whenever anything new happens, practicing a lot and getting used to it is important. Indians practiced a lot with the pink ball. Did the Bangladeshis do it ? As per Indian players' reports ... pink ball cricket is ok if players practice with it. R!TTER
We aren't going to play pink ball tests anywhere we don't want to, there's perks to being the richest board in the world & this is one of them! Link to comment

New guy
Our bowlers have hit batsmen and forced concussion substitute even in day tests so not sure why the pink balls are being blamed. There have also been other pink ball tests without incident Our bowlers are going to bowl lethal bouncers regardless of the ball Edited November 24, 2019 by New guy express bowling and Mosher 2 Link to comment

I would like to see pujara and kohli playing shami and ishant under pink lights . pujara is the only one who has said that it’s difficult to see pink ball day night tests that have been played were outside the subcontinent . If u see how a picture shot in india looks versus say Australia , u can see that india has definitely a thicker atmosphere - see games played in aussie look so clear on tv but in india it always looks grainy - add smog and fog and u have poor visibility . 11 is too small a statistical size .. especially if it has involved very few attacks of the type india has blaming tailend bangladesh batters for being too passive is seriously absurd . They too have families and I think we need to make sure nobody gets hurt OpeningBatsman 1 Link to comment

If visibility is an issue then minor tweaks can be made to the ball. But, as players play more with the pink ball, they are going to get better. We heard similar arguments regarding ODI cricket with the white ball in the 1980s. But players got used to it and minor tweaks were made to the ball too. 24 minutes ago, mani sha said: 11 is too small a statistical size .. especially if it has involved very few attacks of the type india has 7 of the 12 tests have involved India, Australia and / or South Africa ... 3 countries with high quality fast bowling attacks. 24 minutes ago, mani sha said: blaming tailend bangladesh batters for being too passive is seriously absurd . It’s the color pink . Tailenders if could watch the ball well would be not tailenders . not so long ago a young man died due to a bouncer . It was broad daylight and he was not a tailender reason I like cricket over american football and boxing is cos it’s safe . It’s unsafe to play a ball under lights facing extreme pace when the color is not white Link to comment

During the 1980s, the quality of lights were not as good as now. Moreover, the ball got dirty and darker a bit quicker due to the texture. Plus ... so many players grew up playing with the red ball during the day. Any new thing creates issues at first. Quote reason I like cricket over american football and boxing is cos it’s safe . It’s unsafe to play a ball under lights facing extreme pace when the color is not white Cricket was very dangerous till the 1970s. Even after that, it was not safe till 1995 or thereabouts. And that was the time cricket was truly popular among the masses. With the modified helmets being used after the Huges incident, there is no realistic life risk nowadays, even with the pink ball. express bowling
As Ganguly said after the match ... the ball makers will improve the quality of the ball based on player experience. And things will be even better after a short time. Link to comment
MCcricket
Think the SG ball.is good but it needs slight tweak, too much laquer, making it skid and bounce rapidly Link to comment
