Uthappa is setting himself up to go the Badrinath route.  Big mistake for him to set his base price so high.  Better to keep it half of that, and let teams bid it up.  At least that gives him maximum chances of getting selected.

high chances teams will go in a bidding war for him still , Indian player thats to a versatile n established t20 player is like gold . Someone like yuvraj in his decline n who doesnt have a gr8 IPL record went for 14-16 cr

Yuvraj was a six hitter who bats in the middle order, and bowled a bit.  Robin is an opener.  There are at least 10 Indian players who can open for IPL teams - guys like Surya, Parthiv, even that no-name dude from RR.  Easily 5-6 available Indian players who can fill that kind of role.

at that time yuvraj wasnt bowling much

Robin has batted for KKR at 3 n 4 in last few years and for India even at 6,7 and he keeps as well .....so someone like RCB can be intersted. Even CSK like Old player so even CSK can bid. KXIP need good indian batsman to so Even they can go and their coach is kumble

But robin wnt compete with Surya n parthiv as they are already bought.

This IPL auction few indian are in auction like Robin, Piyush chawla, unadkat....i feel they ll all get good bids

you know what your problem is?  you argue for the sake of arguing.

Case can be made for and against, Robin.  Just like Badrinath was one of the better middle order batsmen around in the IPL, when his career ended prematurely due to an unnecessarily high bid price.  After a certain age, teams will not want to overpay for past performers on the downswing, especially if their price is too high.  They will happily overbid for a younger player, but not for an older one.  In Yuvi's case, his name recognition and brand carried a certain value, and there's always a shortage of Indian batsmen who can hit a lot of 6s.  Robin has made his IPL bones batting in the top order, not lower. I wish him luck, but its a dumb move to set a high base price on his part.

Badrinath didnt even have a half a success as robin uthappa in ipl. Uthappa has been a top ipl player. Neither badrinath was seen as a game changer. UthappaJust been struggling for 1-2 yr with form. In last few yrs in kkr its been lynn n narine opening so uthappa has been playing at 3 n 4 . His avg are better at 3 4 then open.

Take yusuf pathan example - gets sold every time ...highly inconsistent very poor in field. Still he has buyer and i wnt be surprised if he gets this year as well.

Take bhajji example, he wasnt playing much cricket but kept his base price 2 cr and got sold to CSK for Base price by which he assured a good amount coming. Indian experienced player are always of high value

Lets see how does he do in auction. I have a feeling he ll fetch a good price

angelo mathews n mitch marsh in top bracket , kya sochte hai ye log

Even Steyn base price is high

You have to understand that mattews , marsh and Steyn are all established players. They think in terms of effort : price. Two months of rest with family vs IPL. 2 Crs will atleast be worth it. If not then there is no point in toiling for less money. They don't have to establish their names nor do they see IPL as a step to other bigger things.

Mathews has played for way too less in other leagues.. I think this is an ego thing for him.. He got paid crazy amount of money in the past in IPL, and now can't imagine getting paid lower money...

btw, I have attended IPL games from corporate boxes and let me tell you, these players get VVVVVVVVIP kind of treat in every game. Each player has their own allocated serviceguy who is providing them fresh juices/fruits/dishes to their own needs ... It is seriously an amazing paid vacation for the players

Did someone say pick Uthappa. This is 2020 IPL not 2017 IPL..

Uthappa single handedly cost KKR 2018 and 2019 season... And you want that bugger to be picked by other IPL teams.

I sat right next to Prety Zinta in one game, where she sent bodyguards on me for taking a video of her. Her bodyguard came to snatch away my phone, till I basically told 'how dare you touch my phone bud' in my Canadian accent and they/Pretty Zinta thought I was some hifi guy and she called them back:giggle: lol my bluff worked.. I have this on video

In one game i was sitting right next to Zahir Khans wife..

You have unlimited booze, unlimited buffet, servers coming back and forth. The food is TOP NOTCH!!! Better than 5 star.  The ticket prices were between 12500-25000...

I have been in Corporate boxes in Canada's GT20 league right next to Brian Lara, Wasim Akram, and almost every commentator. There, the booze was unlimited and limited buffet.

I have some good connections, so luckily I didn't have to pay, but I don't think I will pay the kind of money these boxes charge as I am a vegetarian and never had alcohol. So can't make my money back...

Good for the teams..he thinks too much of himself..he was one of the reasons there was unrest in the kkr camp. His best position is in the commentary box.

I haven't followed IPL for a few years now but what has Unadkat done to justify this high base price?

had one good season for PWI ...so that reputation is still going on

Also indian fast bowlers is something everyone wants in big numbers so someone bit more experienced adds to price ....and he is also a left armer.

His bowling style suits Delhi n chennai wkts .
