Jasprit Bumrah a baby bowler, I would have dominated him: Abdul Razzaq

Recommended Posts

Former Pakistan cricketer Abdul Razzaq has said he would not have had any problems in dealing with Jasprit Bumrah, the current No.1 ODI bowler, if he had still been active now.

Speaking to Cricket Pakistan, Razzaq said that there were many bowlers who were better than Bumrah in his playing days.

“After having faced world class bowlers in my time, I would have had no problem against a bowler like Bumrah. Pressure would have been on him,” said Razzaq.

“I have played against great bowlers like Glenn McGrath and Wasim Akram, so Bumrah is a baby bowler in front of me and I could have easily dominated and attacked him,” he said.

Razzaq’s ODI career lasted from 1996 to 2011. In his prime – in 2002 – he was ranked the No.2 all-rounder in the world.

Speaking about Bumrah, Razzaq added, “Bumrah is doing very well and has improved a lot. He has an awkward action and hits the seam perfectly which is why he is effective.”

Razzaq added that he has approached the Pakistan Cricket Board expressing interest in a coaching role with the country’s U-19 team, but he has been turned away for now.

During the ODI World Cup earlier this year, Razzaq had said he sees a lot of potential in India all-rounder Hardik Pandya but that there are weaknesses in his game that need to be creased out. He had offered to coach Pandya to make him the best all-rounder in the world, if the BCCI permitted it.

Now we will discuss about Razzak and his comments for 5 days.

An ex-cricketer lost in oblivion is relevant again.  (  I just checked his career stats which turned out to be rather poor  )

Mission accomplished for Mr. Razzak.

I notice a strange pattern among Pak ex-cricketers. They seem to have adopted a 3 step policy to launch themselves on youtube

Step 1: Make outrageous, offensive or outright silly comments on India/Indian cricketers.

Step 2: Gather a lot of media attention. After this step people know who you are. Launch a youtube channel.

Step 3: Keep presenting critical views on Pak cricket and praise India and Indian cricket in general. Indian viewership is totally hooked after this.

In the recent past Rashid Latif, Tanvir Ahmed and now Abdul Razzaq have adopted and implemented this policy quite successfully.

Sensible comment by his standard who once said "Ahmed Sehzad has more talent than Tendulkar ever had" :cantstop:

:rotfl:

Did he mention talent in what area. ?

Shehzad may have more talent than Tendulkar in sewing a button.

Man. I still can't believe how much I used to like that Pak team in the mid 2000s. Razzaq, Inzi, Akhtar (even Afretard lol) etc used to be my favourites to watch. Used to route for them against any team barring us. May be because they looked a lot like us and may be because I used to hate all white teams for some reason and maybe because I was 11-12 at that time and was unaware of the political landscape of the two countries. Mumbai 2008 happened and it changed completely.

Now, I just want these morons to get humiliated everywhere.

That is such a trollish statement that it doesn't even warrant a response. Better not to give this Desperado the attention he so badly craves.

During the WC he went on twitter to beg BCCI for a job to "mentor" Hardik Pandya and make him a world class allrounder in 2 weeks.

He's obviously trying hard to get employed.  Problem for him is that he's not seen coach material due to an obvious lack of brains.  That's why he even tried to make a "comeback" as a T20 player, but that failed.  All he can do is market himself the best he can.  In Pakistan, at least such comments will make him "popular" as a TV guy, at a minimum.

Hard to begrudge a former cricketer trying to earn rozi-roti.

To provide some perspective here is a list of Indian bowlers who got Razzaq out in ODIs

  1. Tendulkar (Thrice)
  2. Yuvraj(Twice)
  3. Agarkar(Twice)
  4. Nehra(Twice)
  5. Prasad(Twice)
  6. Srinath(Twice)
  7. RP Singh(Twice)
  8. Ganguly
  9. Sehwag
  10. Zaheer
  11. Pathan
  12. Kumble
  13. Balaji
  14. Powar
  15. Bhandari(one of his 5 ODI scalps)
  16. P Kumar
  17. M Patel

Before facing Bumrah, Razzaq should try facing Tendulkar first.

Also he was Kumble's bunny in tests. Kumble got him out 5 times in 11 innings that Razzaq played against us
