In international T20s, he is usually 130 k to 140 k and goes up to 143 k in some matches. Who has wanted just speed on this forum !! The demand is for skilled quick bowlers like Bumrah and Shami. And the issue is not just about speeds ... but every team needs some hit the deck bowlers when the ball is not swinging. Can't have just floaty swing bowlers filling the team. Bhuvi was consistently bowling over 140 in all the recent matches and even ODIs he played so now being completely dishonest. That IPL doubly accusation was true before but last entire year and this year his speed was high in even ODIs and was discussed in all match threads He was constantly over jaleel in all matches by 5kph and was usually the fastest bowler in the team when bumrah was not playing. MK55
I can only imagine whats gonna happen to these bowlers in Australia LOL. I can guarantee you there will be zero swing on offer. We need bowlers who can hit the deck and get some extra bounce in the initial overs and also bowlers who are capable of bowling fast yorkers. Only Bumrah has that ability. Saini could have been developed to be a better death bowler but that was never gonna happen with this moronic captain and team management. We need 3 pacers. One of them is Bumrah. At least one of the the remaining slots should be filled by a non-floaty swing bowler. express bowling and Mosher 1 1 Link to comment

Samcric
To be successful in T20s, a fast bowler should be able to bowl at least these 2 bowls consistently and accurately: deceptive slower ball and yorker. Speed is not an issue in T20 if a bowler can bowl these two balls well. Dwane Bravo has always been a difficult bowler to hit in T20s because of this. Chahar has a good slower ball but not sure if he can bowl yorkers accurately and consistently. Bhuvi has both but seems to under-bowl the yorkers. He needs to bowl his yorkers more consistently. Bumrah bowls both these types of balls amazingly. In addition, he bowls a hard length during powerplay which is hard to hit due to his pace and action. Undoubtedly, the no. 1 T20 bowler in the world. Such a shame that other Indian bowlers are unable to pick up things from him during nets or otherwise. Shami - don't think he has either of theses two balls and will go for plenty on good decks with true bounce. India should look for seamers who can bowl yorkers with consistency and accuracy. Everyone, including the Unadkats and Khaleels, seems to have a slower ball. Challenge is that if your natural pace is less than 135Ks, then the difference and hence the impact is not much. I hope that one of Saini, Avesh or Mavi can bamboozle us with slower balls and yorkers in IPL 2020. Even better if Hardik can get better at these deliveries. Link to comment

Real McCoy
In t20Is, Chahar > Bhuvi at the moment. Don't go by his match figures this match. He actually bowled better than what his stats show. It was a flat pitch and some of the catches were dropped by Sundar and Hitman. He can bowl the knuckle ball too. Its not a Bhuvi masterpiece Everyone who plays t20 bowls this ball. The catch missed by Sundar at long on was a knuckle ball I believe. He gets more swing in Indian pitches upfront than Bhuvi and seems a smart bowler. He can bowl well at the death as was discovered in the last IPL. For all the death bowling that Bhuvi does, he seems to lose it when facing mega hitters like Pollard. In ODIs, Bhuvi is better than Chahar at the moment but Shami and Bumrah are expected to play ahead of him if the TM has their heads screwed right. express bowling 1 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
You need wrist spinners in Australia. Chahal/Kuldeep one of them will play. Jadeja and Pandya will be the all rounders. That will leave us with 3 pacers at best. Bumrah is one. Many are concerned about Australian pitches not being helpful for swing bowlers. That notion is incorrect. That is true for red ball cricket during day time. White ball under lights does swing. We have seen guys like Praveen Kumar, Ishant sharma, Irfan tasting some success with swing. Even back in the 80s guys like Binny, Kapil enjoyed the swing with white ball. Chahar is a conventional swing bowler who swings from the hand. Infact that is how he became famous. Bhuvi after beginning of his career hardly seen him doing that. He moves off the pitch. Having said that Bhuvi bowled well in the recent Australian one dayers. He was able to bring the ball back in to the right handers of the pitch. Also Bhuvi has a better bouncer than Chahar. Chahar is more likely to give early break through. It is going to be interesting how Kohli will go about it. Play both or sit one out and replace him with Shami or Saini. Link to comment
ShoonyaSifar
Both are defensive bowlers who provide 'control' to the TM and can bat. Chahar being a better batsman of the two, better to have him in the team than Bhuvi who has already done nothing in knockouts of 2014 T20 WC, 2017 CT and 2019 WC. Link to comment

Already played 4 T20 WCs, did absolutely nothing, 17 matches, 56 runs@11 and 14 wickets@31. His test form does not mean he's suddenly an improved T20 player. Good luck to this team if they go into another ICC tournament with KulCha (their main weapon along with Bumrah) not bowling together. The TM have done everything to derail them and will see the consequences next year. sandsaims and MCcricket 1 1 Link to comment
