  • Bhajji wants India to play jadeja, kulcha all 3 in tomm game in a small ground. Why are these Ex-cricketer so unaware of current form of Kulcha and that oppositions have figured them out. Neither of them talk about saini....all they talk is kulcha kulcha .
  • Also he wants to reduce one batsman playing jadeja as 6th batsman thats it

Team news

Ish Sodhi has been released to join the A team. Among the reserves, fast bowler Kyle Jamieson has done enough good things to make his ODI debut tomorrow, while Scott Kuggeleijn, who has been hit with the flu, is looking less certain to break into the XI.

New Zealand (likely): 1 Martin Guptill, 2 Henry Nicholls, 3 Tom Blundell, 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Tom Latham (capt, wk), 6 Colin de Grandhomme, 7 Jimmy Neesham, 8 Mitchell Santner, 9 Kyle Jamieson, 10 Scott Kuggeleijn/Hamish Bennett, 11 Tim Southee

India might once again be faced with the Thakur v Navdeep Saini question, especially given this is a must-win game. For the same reason, Yuzvendra Chahal might look the more attractive option after Yadav leaked runs in Hamilton.

India (likely): 1 Mayank Agarwal, 2 Prithvi Shaw, 3 Virat Kohli (capt), 4 Shreyas Iyer, 5 KL Rahul (wk), 6 Manish Pandey, 7 Ravindra Jadeja, 8 Navdeep Saini/Shardul Thakur, 9 Yuzvendra Chahal/Kuldeep Yadav, 10 Mohammed Shami, 11 Jasprit Bumrah

India lack quality bowlers to be honest. Outside of Bumrah, this is a very poor bowling lineup.

I was so irritated when the broadcasters were bragging as well as Kohli as to how good India's bowling lineup was a few months back.

I could clearly see that in SENA conditions, that they would be garbage. Make no mistake India were lucky to win the T20, 5-0. That was more to do with how crap NZ is to chase gettable targets.

Teams like Aust and Eng in Australian wickets, will make India their bitches.

Kyle jamieson set to make his debut

He did well in the IND A matches, peppering the batsmen with the short ball at seemingly good pace. Good of NZ think tank to give such guys an opportunity while we never go beyond the dour trio of Thakur, Chahar, Khaleel when we rest someone.

Could have used Warrier/Porel for this series and rested Shami, who has played too much cricket of late and is really needed for the tests.

They could have played Kulcha alogn with jadeja in place of Thakur.

The Jadeja experiment in whiteball cricket is irritating.  I'd rather see a Krunal Pandya/Nitish Rana ahead of him.  Or even a K  Goutham or Shreyas Gopal.  Either go Kulcha, or go for a proper allrounder.  Finger spinners are a gamble in whiteball cricket due to 4 outfielders in the middle 30 overs.  And he's simply not effective enough with the bat to carry him.

Pant has definitely done something that TM doesn't like. and likely this is not related to Cricket or his Form.. Cant believe the treatment. The guy should have played all ODI games.

Shaw

Agarwal

Virat

Iyer

Rahul

Pant (WK)

Jadeja

Kuldeep

Shami

Saini

Bumrah.

I would have liked that combination

And suddenly Manish Pandey is gone.. Wasting valuable time over kedar yadav is politics not cricket.

Just look at England. The defending champs already are trying out Denly, Banton, Vince for set positions while we persist with Jadhav and Chahal who have no hope for playing the next odi world cup. And we are still scratching our heads come the big events as to how our balance should be when these guys are not there.
