Fight between India-bangladesh players after the U-19 Final

Recommended Posts

During match both teams were aggressive and sledding each other. Bangladesh started it from first over, India continued it during the second half. Umpire tried to restrain the bowlers during each phase several times.

Post match it is expected that Bangaladesh fans and cricketers will come up with better version of Nagin dance. We could have reacted better instead of getting riled up and trying to do the same thing that we are critical of them. They won as a better team - fair and square. We were pathetic except Jaiswal and Bishnoi (minus his swearing). But all that is fine during the match.

What happened post match could have been avoided had the team management of both sides did a better job in mentoring their players. But even that is understandable given the age group and you can't control the emotional flow everytime. What is unpardonable however is respective fans throwing bottles at players , those fans need to be heavily fined. What is also deplorable is couple of our players fall for their obscene gestures and went in shoving and pushing and dragged their national flag to ground. Physical contact is always dangerous as logic simply goes out of window, and disrespectful of a national flag has to have consequences. Certain things can't be justified because of age. What BCCI absolutely needs to do is reprimand those players , ask for a apology and send them through mentoring sessions, otherwise we are going to get more Kohli's and more embarrassments in future.

In the end, Toygers won the battle of nerves. They abused, we abused (and gave away lots and lots of extras), things got uglier after the Toygers won. This is perhaps the only thing they are going to win in their lifetime.

But these junior Toygers will soon find out that there's a vast gulf between u-19 cricket and senior level. All they will endure is lots of losses and a rare win here or there.

Now, our senior team has to ensure they properly thrash the Senior Toygers every time we play them. No mercies.

Rest of your point is invalid the moment you agreed that he made a valid point. It's not like we don't dish it out to pak on a regular basis ... Like I said, you agree that what the player did is retarded, cric_fan and I myself also pointed it out, however you only attacked him cause of his nationality. Why didn't you bother attacking my post then? I shared the same exact opinion as him, so did many others on this forum on this specific subject. Stupidity at best ... Take your welcome and shove it up where the sun doesn't shine if you will throw around logic that has no base to stand on.

Because you and other Indian posters offer both criticism and praise. Pakistani fans, do not. They come out once the lights are off to offer criticism...like cockroaches.

Seeing the way our players were sledging them, this was expected if we lost.

Which match you were watching....  it's bdeshish who started it all.... they were hurling abuses since start and when they were on course for victory just 2-3 runs before they were planning to abuse indian players. They have started it all from the very first ball of the match so stop playing this victim card.

I feel the umpires should be held responsible for not stopping the obnoxious behaviour while the match was going on .

They should have stopped it well before it  came to this.

Im not sure they have that much power to be fair to them.

They are also not the police to stop and prevent physical altercations. With that said, maybe they should have power at a junior level to suspend or send off a player.

Bangladesh players were like a pack of wild dogs let loose when they won. Hopefully those young Indians learnt a lesson from this and punish them on the field via their cricket talents.

Ind bowlers gave BD batters a hard time throughout. They were even warned by the umpires.

I saw one of the Ind players snatching a flag off a BD player. No excuses for that.

No baba. I watched the match from the beginning, and the Bangladeshi bowlers were very mean. Their behaviour was bad throughout. They initiated it, it was obvious the Indian guys would give it back.

You keep playing this "tit for tat" game and this is exactly how it will end, especially when it comes to Bangladeshis.

If they were mature like Jaiswal and just ignored them and carried on with their game, it would never have come to this. And even if it did, we would have come out looking the bigger team from this incident.

First off, this sort of stuff happens across all grades of cricket, even junior cricket. It's not like this is the first time in their life they've been sledged, sent off, been told abusive words or had the opposition celebrate in their face. Like Jaiswal who simply ignored the bowler who sent him off, they should've been a lot more mature in the situation. The "tit for tat" mentality is fine for gully cricket, not state level and certainly not national team level.

Second, even if you consider they're kids and let their emotions get the better of them, it's the job of the coaches and support staff to groom them exactly for situations like these. Especially considering that they're representing India at the international level.

u didn't see the chat coming from the BD bowlers when India batted? What happens on the field stays on the field - once match is over, you don't go around screaming in the opposition's faces mouthing obscenities. BD as a whole needs to tone down their hysterics while playing/watching cricket.

Wtf man...win and loss are part of game it's bdseshis who intentionally threw the ball on saxrna and then abuses him as well...they were doing full maa been since start. Indian kid only started doing when they got wkts and pushed bd on backfoot. All good while it was during match. But bdseshis when about to reach to the target their players were literally doing maa been on camera and soon after victory they came running like a mob on the face of Indian players who were already upset. So not sure why you are blaming only Indian kids at the end  of the day most of them are kids so no need to jump up and down and blame them like convicts. I am proud that they fought well and dint give up like Pakistani in SF against us.

yup, they had all gathered at the boundary and that Shoriful fellow looked like he was hopped up on something. The BD coaching staff should have had a word with their players right then as it was clear what was about to happen once the winning shot was played. Sure, run on to the ground and hug your batsmen...take a victory lap, but don't try to surround opposition fielders and scream in their faces, a shove or push is a mild response to such disgraceful behavior. Except for Bishnoi chatting with batsmen (what he was saying was no worse than what Warne used to do) and our close-in fielders being over excited, I don't think any of our other bowlers were sledging at all.  And where in the video does it show our player throwing the BD flag to the ground??

what are you going on about? jaiswal walking off after he was dismissed IS NOT SAME AS a mob surrounding you, screaming obscenities in your face AFTER the match is over - any sane person would feel offended and look to defend himself by pushing whoever is invading his personal space. Even abusive send-offs to batsmen should not be tolerated and batsmen should make his displeasure known as he leaves and TM should lodge a complaint with match referee. If you take s**t lying down, you are just inviting others to heap more s**t on you next time.

"Tit for Tat" mentality is exactly what transformed our cricket after Ganguly took over and decided to give the Aussies a dose of their own medicine - turning the other cheek works only in movies. Why do you think India's series with NZ, WI or SL never produce the sort of animosity that a series with Australia does? Because now we have learnt to give back to bullies. Our boy's did the right thing with the lunatic BD bunch - they had literally surrounded some of our players, and it was good that other Indian players rushed in to save their compatriots. Lets stop with the self-flagellation, shall we?
