zen
I agree. Of late, he is bowling a bit more defensive for my taste. You have to try to win the game by striking early blows not by hoping to bowl economical death overs relatively speaking Link to comment
vvvslaxman
He is thinking he can breach defense with fast length balls. In NZ you have to be pitching it right up. That is when the pace works. I think he will do better in Tests as batsmen are not going to be in attacking mode. But he has to make every single ball count. No wayward deliveries like in the one dayers. In NZ whenever we get a chance to bowl first make the most o fit. In order to do that you need swing bowlers. Link to comment
Suhaan
He has been seen defensive since the start of wc 19 and rightly so,he is our strike bowler, maybe he tries to hold one end and other pàcers reaped benefits from it from the other end He needs to find his rhythm back Link to comment

In NZ, wicket turns batting paradise from second day. If IND wins the toss and bowl first, maybe he can get some movement on the first day and that'll be it pretty much. From day 2 onwards, you need a bowler like Ishant with his prime accuracy and lengths. Link to comment

There was no need to play him all 3 odis after playing 5 t20s,he was coming from long injury layoff he should have been rested to prepare for much important test series ahead But then this TM is for a reason Stan AF, Cricwala, Vijy and 1 other 4 Link to comment

ShoonyaSifar
Rushing him back to international cricket was always fraught with danger. Would have been better if he played Ranji Trophy , then for India A, eased into his bowling rhythm and then played in the Test series. Since his comeback, he's played 13 LOIs and taken just 9 wickets. Those are shocking numbers for the best pacer in the world. Needs to go back to his wicket taking form soon. Link to comment

But the best part is he takes those big wickets and offers breakthroughs in the middle of the innings. He is not a bowler who would run through a side with 4-5 wickets something that he does in test cricket. Thats down to the fact that oppositions play him out mostly and take chances against other bowlers which in turn offer wickets to other bowlers. Link to comment
