This is my ranking in order of merit of combined teams of same period.

 

1.Australia-Pakistan 1996-2000

2.Australia-West Indies 1976-80

3.West Indies-Pakistan 1977-79

4.West Indies-Pakistan 1986-88

5.Australia-South Africa 1998-2002

 

 

 

 

Chose Australia-Pakistan 1996-2000 at the top because it had the strongest and most diverse or talented bowling attack with Wasim,Warne and Mcgrath in addition to match-winners with the bat like Ponting,Gilchrist,Inzy and Waugh brothers .1976-79 Australia -West Indies have the best sidle order batsmen with Viv and Chappell brothers and lethal pace but rated 2nd beacuse it lacks the diversity of Aussie-Pak side of 1996-2000 .West Indies-Pakistan of 1977 has a great batting line up but falls marginally short in bowling department and vice versa for West Indies-Pak 1988 team who are not as strong in batting department.Australia-South Africa have a devastating attack but not as diverse as Aussie-Pak nor as talented batsmen.However it has 2 great allrounders in Pollock and Kallis which puts them right up there.
