javier26
Or do the fans expect him to play on till the 2027 WC? Born in 1988 , Virat Kohli will be 35 Years Old at 2023 WC and 39 Years old at 2027 WC. The Oldest and Fittest batsman to play the Global Tournament was Tendulkar who played his last WC at the age of 38 in 2011, which was also his last year of being in decent form after which his form went downhill. So Virat will have to maintain his form while being a year older than Tendulkar. Will VK survive till 2027 while playing and carrying the burden of captaincy in all formats, playing the IPL and other Global Tournaments ? Link to comment
Rasgulla
As a captain 2023 will be the end. As a player he ll play 2027 WC. By that time he will break 100 100s and many other records Edited March 31, 2020 by Rasgulla Link to comment

Param Mastishk Pheeka
Do you mean for Dhoni? He was born July 7 1981 - will be only 29 and at the peak of his powers in 2023. Link to comment
nevada
Even 2023 is not a given. Right now, Kohli seems to be in decline or going through a dip in form in the ODI format. 3 years later it is possible he is badly out of form/injured. If he loses captaincy, Kohli might say screw it and just quit altogether. That being said, I would rate 80-20 for likelihood of his playing 2023 WC vs not playing. Sandeep99
By 2023, KL Rahul would be at his peak and ideally the captain. But we all know rat will captain and be chiefly responsible for our ouster in both 2023 and 2027 world cups. Link to comment
Lone Wolf
Undoubtedly yes.. Kohli will be in his twilight during 2023. His performance graph is already dropping. KL Rahul will hopefully emerge as best batsman in the side & Iyer as a possible Captaincy material. Kohli needs to win at least one ICC Trophy to Lead Ind in 2023. I don't see that happening with bewada running things with him. Link to comment
