Not often talked about X1

Picking players who usually get left out of ATG dream X1s but have great stats and performances.

We can’t call them underrated either because when people mention their names, we do acknowledge they were great players.

Also tried my best to pick players who have had decent careers in both format. I believe apart from Herath everyone has had decent careers in both formats.

G.Kirsten
G.Smith
S.Chanderpaul
M.Yusuf
Inzamam

M.Boucher (WK)
C.Cairns

J.Srinath

M.Ntini

R.Herat

A.Kumble

Other players considered: A.Border,S.Anwar,M.Jayawardena,Harbhajan Singh.

Left players like Pollock and VVS Laxman because think they do get their due often

WKs that get left out cause of preference for Gilly:

  • A Flower (Tests; avg around 53 vs. major teams)
  • D Houghton (ODIs; missed a lot of cricket in his prime)
  • A Knott (Tests; usually picked before Gilly came on the scene so probably got his due)

How about Ian Healy? Kept well, not to shabby with the bat.

Flower is left out because his keeping was mediocre. Otherwise, he was a brilliant batsman.
