I am sure there are a lot of fans and i am one too (as i am fan of all indian cricketers) but i have seen his limitations for years. He is just not suited for this format or the ODI's anymore and his declining performance in tests does not do him any favors either.
I will have to agree with you, but i dont agree with you on: his declining performance in tests does not do him any favors either

Lets look at the stats from another angle, shall we..We'll start from that famous series downunder in 2004. Right after that, India in Pakistan Test Series, 2003/04 3 124 71 31.00 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (Australia in India), 2004/05 4 123 69 17.57 South Africa in India Test Series, 2004/05 2 47 38 23.50 India in Bangladesh Test Series, 2004/05 2 41 32 20.50 Pakistan in India Test Series, 2004/05 3 166 79* 41.50 India in Zimbabwe Test Series, 2005/06 2 148 140 74.00 Sri Lanka in India Test Series, 2005/06 3 194 104 38.80 India in Pakistan Test Series, 2005/06 3 138 90 46.00 England in India Test Series, 2005/06 1 0 0* 0.00 India in West Indies Test Series, 2006 4 257 100 36.71 India in South Africa Test Series, 2006/07 3 180 73 36.00 Pataudi Trophy (India in England), 2007 3 205 54 51.25 Pakistan in India Test Series, 2007/08 3 209 112* 209.00 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (India in Australia), 2007/08 4 366 109 45.75 South Africa in India Test Series, 2007/08 3 127 50 31.75 1 Series (not counting Zim obviously) avg 209, 1 with 51, the rest below 50. Just 1 series above the par score for someone like Sachin and dravid through their career.

Your stats dont really prove much, yea on paper it may seem like that. But Laxman has played many matchwinning and matchsaving knocks thats why hes still in the team. I dont know what type of cricket fan doubts VVS's contribution in test match cricket. Also your stats dont prove what your trying say.

If anything the above stats prove, Laxman's form is actually quite consistent.

Nobody Doubts Laxman's Credentials in Test Cricket But when It Comes to T20 he lacks the basic Ingredients 1.Aggressive Hitting.............Laxman is more of a wristy player who hits along the ground 2.Power...........................Rahul Dravid can hit it Longer than Laxman.......leave alone the others 3.Athleticism......................One of the slowest movers on the field...... 4.Running btwn wickets.........Sloppy runner.........cant convert 1s into 2s That is why we are saying T20 is not his game..................... you've gotta accept that...........

let me repeat, 31 17 23 20 41 39 46 37 36 51 209 46 32 Dont we consider 50 as the par score these days? 1 great series, 1 good series, 3 decent ones and 8 bad series.......He is consistent , consistently "not good".
I can pull that out for almost any player, if its going to be like that.

The Only Clarification Zap needed was some one to say that he was goin off topic............... He may have started it but you should have knocked him on his head and dragged him back to the current topic................. Lets focus on cricket amigo..........................
