zubinpepsi
we are all very lucky tht India dint choose him as a captain.... and he will never play ODI & T20 for India.... what a retarded captaincy.... those 2 overs of symmonds changed the game.. and vaas and RP singh who were brilliant today, still have a over a piece to b bowled.. can someone explain this move... i can only think of laxman's love for maaki... sucking up too much.. graphic23
Um, RP went for runs in his previous over - to be honest. I bet you anything that he was saving Vaas for the last over. The spinner was the creating problems for the batsmen, and he bowled a bad last over. The bowling strength of the Chargers wasn't very good and someone had to bowl the extra overs, and he chose Symonds. C'mon - Laxman did not do a bad job. zubinpepsi
Graphic23, tell me whats the need to go for symonds.. and tht too after a shoddy 1st over , he gave him an another over.. thts plain retarded one.... when u have other 3 bowlers who r bowling good.. T20 is too short to have these lapses..
h4te
he (and Gilly) were excellent in the early and middle overs. they had fielders in the circle to prevent the singles even after the powerplay....i don't know what the fack happened to that at the end? all of a sudden, he put the fielders to save the boundary. the 2 or 3 byes and wides that went for four really cost them the match. flamy
not bowling spin on such a pitch??? He had Rohit Sharma, why give maaki after a dumbass 1st over? What abt saving some effin singles at the end? I knew his captaincy would effect even a strong team such as this and it has happened.
f.b.m
Yeah, his captaincy was quite bad from what I saw. (which were the last 7 overs of the match)
Rohan495
dude you guys are pathetic for starting such a useless thread. First of all he was going to bowl Vaas for the last over. Ohja did well took Gangulys wicket. And honestly is it VVS's fault that symonds gave up so many extras? On a unpredictable pitch do not ever blame the captain for that. They could just smash the ball and it would go for 4 or 6 what do you do then? it came down to the bowlers being as economical as possible they gave away too many extras and thats what costed the game not Laxman. Dont use him as a scapegoat. Oh yea and by the way, honestly its a shame to say that you are deccan charger fan, blaming the captain, its a team game dude a captain can only do so much bottom line: They didnt bat out 20 overs. amits
it was more of retarded bowling by symonds than bad captaincy by laxman. i cant understand y symonds decided to bowl medium pace on a pitch where spinners were doing so well & were unplayable. also, symonds gave away 10 extras in 1 over(4 byes + 6 wides) also, laxman shouldnt have given up the icon status. symonds is no way worth $1.35 million. laxman getting >$1 million would have been better than symonds getting $1.35 million

He is the star player that is paid the most. The captain has to trust all his players. He trusted Ohja who has no international experience, but i bet that spell will help Ohja for the rest of tournament. Symonds would have been really useful if he mixed it up with offspin i hate to blame a player but imma have to say that Symonds kind of ruined it for the team giving up all those extras. But with all this said im done arguing about this issue bottom line is that Chargers will bounce back
Rajiv
..actually, Laxman looked nothing but a puppet out there. The way he was asking symonds about field placement looked as if he was asking permission You are the captain man, show some leadership
King
Not just Symonds Rajeev even Gilly was having his say. BTW it was no less than intense than an international game. Gilly going up for everything hasn't seem to have changed.

Laxman was doing that to Symmo when he was bowling....and of course Laxman is within his rights to ask for input from Gilly (especially) and Symonds - they are quite experienced and Gilchrist has tons of experiences from captaining some games + learning from Ponting
flamy
As soon as the pitch started breaking up, did u see how many overs were bowled by spin by KKR? Why was Laxman sucking his thumb with seamers? And you don't put on show a player who is obviously having a bad day. Symonds had a bad first over, and the fact that he is the highest paid doesnt warrant him a second over. There is no cricketing sense in that.
Cricketics
lol u ppl callng laxman a puppet. as if u guys know if the stump mic was on and u could hear all the stuff. surely we could see gilly and symo in action talkin a lot.. but then it was of situation.. which is fine.. Laxman ain't that bad a captain..
