Hi fellas, I'm sure you are all aware the WC 2007 section of this website is on its way. I'm needing to put together a webpage with profiles of players. I need a little write up on each Indian player participating in the upcoming World cup. I thought if you guys can give us a hand this will be done in no time at all. Can you guys please post a little write up for each player? Please post it in this topic by replying with Player Name and the write up. We will reward you with 100 points for each player and we will display your name as profile writer/credits section in the WC section of this website. Cheers

Re: Need a hand with writing Player profiles Thanks Pred for the help. 1. how long? Not sure in terms of words but we are flexible, shorter the better. 2. what kinda info u lookin for A short introduction of the player is good enough with keeping the world cup in context would be great. 3. how man profiles per user ? One for each player is all we need. As and when a player has been covered the members will pick up the ones that are undone.

I can write you a few - just assign them to me and they will be done post-haste
Go ahead and pick any players you like and post it here. As answered above. We need profile for the following players : India World Cup Squad February 12, 2007 1. R Dravid (captain) 2. Re: Need a hand with writing Player profiles Player name : Saurav Ganguly One of the best One day international players this world has seen , Ganguly's record speaks for itself - 10,470 runs in 280 matches at an average of 41.22 with 22 centuries, 18 of them being match winning. But a prolonged form slump and a public acrimonious split with a high profile coach had meant that Ganguly was out of the ODI team for the entire year of 2006. Few people would have given Ganguly any hope of making to the world cup team even 5 months ago, but poor performances by the Indian team in the recent past and a change in selection panel resulted in him making it back to the national colours. To the surprise of many , Ganguly has grabbed this chance with both his hands and has looked by far the most accomplished of Indian batsmen in the last couple of series he has played , even bagging the man of the series award against Sri Lanka. Ganguly's batting has look of solidity about it now and he visibly much more fitter than he was before. His experience, attacking strokeplay will form a key component of the team's plans this tournament. Often maligned for his brazen on-field attitude , this world cup Ganguly's best chance to get back at his detractors and reclaim some of his lost glory. Is that good enough ???

Re: Need a hand with writing Player profiles Yuvraj Singh;

yovraj-after-century.jpg All of India breathed a sigh of relief when noticing the scorecard of the Indian 2nd innings in the 3rd decisive match vs Sri Lanka. India had won, but that wasn't the only cause for celebration. The man who powered India's chase was Yuvaj Singh - carrying his bat through with 96*, and effectively rubbishing any of the suspicions bandied about regarding his match-fitness. Over the course of the last two seasons; Yuvraj has become an indispensable cog in India's powerful middle order machine. With a vast array of exciting strokes (namely a booming cover-drive to die for) and the kind of self-confidence which characterises the new-age Indian cricketer - he has metamorphesized into a remarkably consistent match-winner under the tutelege of Greg Chappell. The memories of a once erratic and complacent kid were to be consigned to the history books as Yuvraj proved instrumental in India's unprecendented resurgence. The 2005/06 season was his most successful 'til date - as he raised the level of his game to heights never witnessed before; amassing 1161 runs in 29 matches at a staggering average of 58.05. A streak punctuated by 4 brilliant hundreds, and 3 consecutive man of the series awards (vs SA, PAK and ENG). His past experience in the 2003 World Cup and a penchant for delivering on the big stage will hold him good stead as India attempt to win the trophy which had eluded them 4 seasons ago.
