It would be a battle of Spinners

So far the teams which can take wickets in middle overs and slow down the run rate have done well. All four teams in semis have atleast one decent spinners. Their fortune will depend on how this spinners bowl or how opposing batsman play them. Delhi ------ They started the tournament well and did not include Mishra in their intial games. But soon they realized their attack was one dimensional, but inclusion of Mishra was great boost. He has lot of tricks and can get crucial wickets in middle overs. He has 9 wkts in 5 games with superb economy of 6.3 (better than McGrath). Delhi's fortune rests on his guiles Punjab -------- Yuvi should be given credit for keeping faith in young Chawla and he has delivered with ball on several occasions. He seems to have big heart and has capabilities to take wickets. He has 17 wkts in 14 games. He has atleast won two games with the bowl and one with the bat. Along with Chawla, Yuvi has Powar. Powar is more for restrictive bowling and has economy rate of only 7, thats incredible for offie with short boundaries. But will Yuvi go with 2 spinners on bouncy tracks of Mumbai, remains to be seen. Rajasthan ------------ Well they have Warnie, he does not need any introduction. With wealth of experience, even at 39 he is force to reckon with. He has 17 wkts in 13 games at the economy rate of 8. He was absent in last game and one can see the effect that it had. The opposition piled on the runs. You can count on Warnie to perform in big games. He relishes big occasion. Rajasthan also have Pathan, and Warnie has used him intelligently. Chennai ---------- They have Murli, but by his standard he has been having quiet IPL. In every interview Dhoni mentions his weak bowling. For Chennai to restrict Punjab they have to bowl really well and Murli has role to play. Murli should be used to take wickets, with slip in place. So far Murli has excellent economy rate, but not many wickets to show for. Can Murli bring his A game in the knock outs? We have to wait and see.
