Holysmoke Posted June 2, 2008 Author Share Posted June 2, 2008 couple of funny incidents from the final.. after chennai batted, bowlers were warming up.. all the bowlers were throwing balls to other squad members who had baseball gloves to catch the ball and give it back to the bowlers murali was bowling to jogi.. after a couple of offspinners, murali pitches the ball at the same place, and jogi, doesnt read the doosra.. holds the glove out thinking its an offspinner, and the ball hits him straight on the crotch.. and soon jogi is lying flat on the floor, while murali is scratching his head... during the game, suddenly the crowd starts shouting sachinnnn sachinnn... at first its barely audible.. but then it catches on.. and after a min.. every single man in the stadium is shouting sachins name.. including sreesanth and vrv who were sitting behind sachin, including warney, including sohail tanveer... bichara sachin gets very embarassed.. waves his hand in all possible directions, and then covers his face with a napkin.. thats when i realised how uncomfortable it must feel to have 70,000 people looking at you and shouting your name, while you're trying to eat a sandwich... How good is the stadium in terms of spectator comfort etc? much better has bucket seats as compared to bench seats.. so you have your own seat.. you dont have to squeeze in a bench.. also, there are LOADS and LOADS of exits and staircases, so the stadium is quite breezy, and its easy to go in and out.
