King Tendulkar
His glove work is below average. Untidy at times, as evidenced by poor glovework in recent tour of england. His batting is very average. He has only 1 test match ton to his name after such a legthy run in team. No big knocks at key moments. Karthick, Ghambhir all have a ton in test cricket and Yuvraj has more tons then Dhoni. Yet these guys are in and out of the team like yo yos, never get a run of years like Dhoni and get endless stick. Dhoni depite his repeated failues in tests never gets any criticism and stays in side. Only time he gets out of team is when he fancys dodging a series! Why the double standard? Why is his poor test match performances not subject to criticism? Its not his bollywood smile, huge over hype and ridiculous iconic status that stops him being criticised or dropped is it? He should have been axed ages ago and I only hope his replacement grabs the chance meaning Dhoni does not get back in the team! Link to comment
Laaloo
good for u it all sums up now. u r a YUVI fan. aahah. no wonder all the unnecessary love for dhoni. Link to comment
The Outsider
Dhoni's glovework is average? You should really give up, dsr. Wait till you see the lions Karthik and Parthiv in action - oh wait been there done that. Their glovework is club standard if Dhoni is average. Link to comment
msb1991
His glove work is below average. Untidy at times' date=' as evidenced by poor glovework in recent tour of england.[/quote'] I watch English cricket on a regular basis considering I live there and very few touring keepers come to England and keep well the first time. The ball swings and it is very hard for the keeper as it tends to swing after passing the stumps, something which is extremely tough to stop. His batting is very average. He has only 1 test match ton to his name after such a legthy run in team. No big knocks at key moments. Helped to salvage a draw here and here. An average of 33.76 is adequate for a wicket keeper. Karthick' date=' Ghambhir all have a ton in test cricket and Yuvraj has more tons then Dhoni. Karthik and Dhoni's tons were against Bangladesh - do they really 'count'? Not really. Yuvraj has three tons but only three other half centuries, clearly, he has shown a lack of ability to consistently score moderately high and it is either all or nothing with his innings. Why don't you lay off Dhoni and stop yapping on when you clearly have no clue about the rigours which his body has been placed under due to the schedule. God only knows what makes you think you understand Dhoni's body better than he and other experts. Link to comment

Nobody seems to mind Yuvraj getting hammered by all and sundry on this board, which is quite ironic as his test match performances are superior to Dhoni! Link to comment

Moreover, look at this, aren't there about a dozen too many low scores whereas a Test number 6 should be looking to score fifties more often than not. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Tour of oz, Dhoni did not get 1 test 50! Is that good enough? Does that not show he does not have the required class needed at this level? On that tour alone a replacement should be sort! He has had enough chances now, someone else deserves a run! Guest dada_rocks
Becasue he is betetr batsman that the other contenders may be Parthic edges him ahead as a batsman in test cricket.. and much much much better keeper than the other two... And a brilliant cricketing mind to boot.. Link to comment
DomainK
A totally useless thread. Starts with no reasoning, ends with none. Just a baseless statement. Dhoni is the best wicketkeeper from both keeping and batting point of view. Period. Link to comment

King Tendulkar
It seems everyone is ecstatic about his performances in tests. It seems he has the indian public firmly behind him. I thought questions may be asked after not making even one fifty in the oz test series. Clearly not he has a very loyal following. Must already be the greatest keeper our lands have seen. No chance of Parthiv or Karthick replacing him no matter what they do, merley keeping the seat warm. Dhoni it seems is irrerplacable. Just a question of when not if Mr Dhoni becomes test captain with such loyal followers! Link to comment

Most previous wicket keepers like More, Mongia etc. were decent batsmen, but no one had the pressure to hold their place solely based on their batting. Why should it be different for Dhoni, agreed that he is far more talented as a batsmen? The equation changes with Yuvraj though. The bar is substantially higher for him as he is in the team as a specialist batsmen and is expected to perform like one. :hatsoff: Link to comment
