DesiChap
Agencies Thursday, March 15, 2007 01:16 IST MUMBAI: Considering the nature of wickets in the West Indies and the ability of Indian attack, the team has a bright chance at the World Cup, feels former Test cricketers. ?I would not be surprised if India wins the World Cup. The conditions in West Indies are similar to the sub-continent. That?s why India has a good chance of winning the World Cup,? said former India captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth. On the occasion of unveiling of the world?s largest cricket bat during the final phase of the Cheer for India campaign Srikkanth said, ?apart from the two world-class spinners Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh we have good part-time spinners thus we have good variety in bowling.? Asked about defending champions Australia?s recent reversals against England and New Zealand, the 47-year-old said that the series of defeats was a blessing in disguise for the World Champions heading into the event. On their bowling attack which was recently under the scanner for their inability to defend huge totals, Srikkanth felt that probably Glenn McGrath is not the same bowler he was earlier.
