we are not safe at all

Our NRR is right now 2.49... If Lanka beat Bangla by even 5 runs or more...they will have better NRR than us after two games... Although Bangla will have impossible task of improving their NRR against Bermuda....So all we have to do is beat SL conviningly....or pray that Bangla/Lanka match is rained out.. Even if SL wins by more than 5 overs to spare they have better NRR..

Re: we are not safe at all It doesn't matter if SL have a better RR than us. We have to be in the top 2 teams and its close to impossible for both SL and BD to end up with a better NRR than us. We are safe, home, and dry as long as we beat SL. Whats more the NRR is not relevant for future scheduling as well as carrying over points to the next round. So its not going to matter for the future if you top the group or not.

Re: we are not safe at all >If we beat SL and SL don't beat BD comprehensively, SL is in real danger of elimination hows that possible.. Lets assume..SL beat Bangla by 40 runs..they have better NRR than us.. and we win by 2 runs...our NRR will be close to Lanka's NRR and it will be uphill task for Bangla to catch up...so most likely team to go out is Bangla..incase they lose badly against Lanka..

Re: we are not safe at all We need Sri Lanka to give Bangladesh one hell of a whipping. That way Bangladesh will have to score 500+ against Bermuda, which isn't going to happen. Even if Sri Lanka finish in front of us we will carry the points over to the next stage.

Re: we are not safe at all So here is what i understood. We want BD to lose on wed. If SL hammers them, then most likely our NRR will never be above SLs but BD will have a tough time meeting Indian NRR (assuming India wins against SL). But if its a close SL-BD match which SL wins and if we have an OK outing against SL then there is a possibility that our NRR will be higher than that of SL so we dont have to worry about Bermuda - BD match. Well ill take the second option. Let me throw in another possibility, what if BD loses both the games ? then we can qualify even after losing to SL.
