Lets say they have to chase 300 odd runs...instead of going for a win..they will make sure NRR doesnt drop too low..and go for 260 instead... I think they just might..

Re: Will Bangladesh play it safe?? They will lose by a minimum of 100 runs. Realistically they will lose by 150 runs. Even if Bangla lose by 100 runs and India win by a whisker over SL, Bangladesh will need a 350+ run margin of victory to advance. Their only hope is SL beating India.

know this... if they are dumb enough to not go for a victory, then the margin by which they fall short of, plus 257 is the margin by which they need to beat bermuda to match us, provided we dont beat sri lanka by a larger margin. play it safe or play is unsafe, if we beat sri lanka, bangladesh's world cup would amount to little more than the frequent flier miles the players knotch up.

DDB, In your excel sheet try this numbers, Bangla 250 today India scoring 350 and Lanka 180 Now against Bermuda, Bangla bowl out Bermuda for 78 and score those runs in 5 overs..They go thru.. All thats possible only if Bangla can go close to SL score today..if they cant..they have virtually no chance..

You reckon it is virtually impossible for Bangladesh to make it if India wins right. That's a good thing India doesn't have to worry about run rate now and just concentrate on winning the next game. It is hard to win and also try and up the run rate against Sri Lanka.

But based on current form, happening of both the following events is unlikely > Lanka lose by 180 runs (If India win, Margin will be 50-100 runs or 5-10 overs earlier) > BD beating Bermuda in 5 overs or by 300 margin Mathematically, its probable. Realistically, its highly improbable

Ravi, if you crunch the nos. in the excel sheet, ANYTHING is possible. Theoretically BD's NRR can overtake Ind or SL. But its very very difficult (more like 1% chance)
