Karachi: The United Arab Emirates has refused to issue special cricket visas for Pakistani fans wanting to catch their team in action against world champions Australia in a one-day series there next month. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had requested special visas for the five-match series to be held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai from April 22 to May 7. "They have not accepted this proposal for variety of reasons but we had moved this proposal since lot of people in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other cities were keen to go and watch the one-day series," PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt said on Friday. The five one-day internationals would be followed by a Twenty20. Cricket Australia had refused to send its team to Pakistan because of security concerns of its players. Last year also Australia had scrapped a Test tour to Pakistan for security reasons. Butt said the two boards are yet to sign a memorandum of understanding for the upcoming series. "But there is nothing to worry about, it will be signed soon as both boards first want to put everything into place in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. We want to have a clear understanding with Australia and make them comfortable since we are the hosts of the series," Butt said.

some of the gulf countries are already reeling under recession. they are afraid Pakistanis may not return home after the matches because they will try to stay back and earn some livelihood there rather than getting back to problems in pak.

They always do that. Even in tours to India, the number of Pakistani fans that go back is always less then the number that comes in. Thats why India was reluctant to issue too many visas last time.

Pak is in the worst condition... Same goes with india. Bangladesi ppl flooded india and indian ppl going abroad. Not a big deal Only difference is education level and attitude. Bangladeshi and paki create riots, use non sense religious feelings and destroyer and Indian are progressive, creative and peaceful Indian in USA, UK , AUS , UAE , NZ , Europe and african country. Tey always middle upper or rich class. Pakis in UK making bombs, UAE drug dealers and robbers, USA terrorists, AUS demaning shariyat law(epic failer). A bad element of society..

actually there is a considerable difference between an immigrant who moves to a different nation, seeking better economic opportunities, and yet refuses to renounce their archaic traditions; as compared to an educated individual who moves to another country seeking better economic opportunities, and readily assimilates the local culture, even contributing to it...
