LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to withdraw the legal notice it had served on the International Cricket Council (ICC) for not giving the allotted 14 matches of the 2011 World Cup back to Pakistan. Well-informed sources told Dawn that the PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt, who will be going to Dubai to meet ICC President David Morgan on July 28, will formally inform the game’s governing body about withdrawing the notice. However, sources said that the PCB could ask for more financial benefits from the ICC, especially against its share of eight matches which were given to India. The ICC is ready to give the PCB $10.05 million for the entire 14 matches, which have been distributed among the two other joint hosts of the mega event including, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, besides India. The ICC had decided to exclude PCB as hosts due to the reluctance of various countries to visit Pakistan due to the security situation here. Things too took a turn after the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore on March 3. Various Sri Lankan cricketers received injuries while the eight policemen escorting them were killed on the spot. The PCB had served the legal notice through the England-based law firm DLA Piper, whose lawyer Mark Gay, sources added, advised the board to take back the case as it was not strong enough, especially when the ICC had endorsed the decision of getting back the 14 matches from Pakistan from ICC Development International (IDI), its commercial unit. The PCB in its legal notice had raised the objection that since IDI had allotted the 14 matches to Pakistan, it is the genuine authority to take back the matches, too. To end this objection, the ICC had endorsed the decision from the IDI in England on June 25. It was after that when the PCB lawyer advised them to take back the notice, sources said. Sources also said that the PCB had spent around Rs70 million after serving the legal notice to the ICC. The lawyer, too, received Pound Sterling 35,000 in advance.

Whats worse PCB will get $10.5 Million for its WC matches -- and they have already spent $1.7 Million. (Fixed) That's outrageous in my opinion -- for somebody who hardly makes a Million or Two after a HIT ODI Series. (except of course when they play India) Thats what happens when you have somebody educated in a Madrassah heading Corporates/Major Entities.

Every country gets 750 K for every match it hosts as a hosting fee from ICC. But ICC has decided as a token of good will -- to throw on the Paki Beggars its share of money for the 14 matches it was originally allocated.

So, they get paid the 750 K for each match for the 14 matches they were originally supposed to schedule even though the 14 matches will now be scheduled elsewhere ? So, they get paid for sitting on the ar5e' and watching other countries host their matches they were supposed to hold ?
Yes --- yet the Uneducated F&^KS went ahead with a Law Suit that cost them $70 Million. They flexed their muscles like John Rambo only to forget that they look like a Starved Somalian who survives on roots and shrubs. Man 70 Million -- Think about it -- Thats a lotttttttt of f'ing money. I doubt if they would have made 70 Million even if they hosted all the matches and everything went fine for them. Somebody should be taken to task here!

That is the money ICC is paying the bunch of terrorists (pcb) to keep them from shooting at more teams.
