Swine Flu hits cricket

Recommended Posts

Twenty20 Cup: swine flu forces Ian Harvey to miss Northamptonshire quarter-final Harvey, a 37-year-old World Cup winner with Australia, joined Northants at the start of the season as a Twenty20 specialist and was instrumental in them qualifying for the last eight of this year’s competition. He was due to play in Wednesday’s washed out quarter-final at Northampton against Hampshire but will instead be in quarantine for the next five days. “Ian is not strong enough to play and it's certainly knocked him out for a few days," said David Capel, the Northants head coach. "He's not going to be out of the woods for a while. He's been pretty ill and is feeling very weak. It's a nasty virus by the sounds of it." Harvey has been Northamptonshire’s leading player with 258 runs and 12 wickets at an average of 10.58. The match against Hampshire, which was called off an hour before play was due to start, has been rescheduled for this afternoon. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/cricket/twenty20/5934803/Twenty20-Cup-swine-flu-forces-Ian-Harvey-to-miss-Northamptonshire-quarter-final.html
