Why is it that Indian quicks lose pace as they progress in their career ?? So so many examples.. And of late one can easily think of Zaheer, Munaf , Pathan etc.. Is it becaus of Injury ? loss of confidence ? or just bad coaching ??

Re: Why do Indian fast bowlers get slow over time ?? I can go ahead and say that it is because of fitness and mental brittleness! The moment a bowler becomes the mainstay of the team, the workload increases, expectation increases manyfolds and hence the pressure as well which he had not experienced so far in his career. There is just too much at stake and they don't want to get injured. Hence the best option is to cut down pace!

Re: Why do Indian fast bowlers get slow over time ?? ^ Yep. And that is true of bowlers the world over really...how many genuine quicks are there? Not many. There so much cricket esp ODIs being played, bowlers don't want to injure themselves.

They make too much money too early and want to enjoy the kushi life at a relaxed pace.

Loses control over line and length. Tries to do manythings at a time and fails to produce core result.
