Sir Aggi nailed sehwag Agarkar to Sehwag, OUT, good length delivery which kept bit low, coming in and a lazy drive from Sehwag, the ball beats the bat and the off stump is knocked down, a big blow for Rest of India. V Sehwag b Agarkar 10 (14b 0x4 0x6) SR: 71.42

The same story continues. BCCI focussing its entire energy on the tamasha series like CL . Look at the track being used here, wickets at nagpur normally have good bounce but here the new ball isnt even going above the knee. Pathetic to see such pitches killing the pace bowling talent in this country. Wonder if BCCI will ever learn from any of our defeats.

Great news! The national team back in the domestic cricket, makes it interesting to follow.. Squad: Rest of India: Virender Sehwag (capt.), M Vijay, Virat Kohli, S Badrinath, Manoj Tiwary, Ravindra Jadeja, Irfan Pathan, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), S Sreesanth, Munaf Patel, Pragyan Ojha, Kedar Jadhav, Abhinav Mukund, Uday Kaul, Sudeep Tyagi.
Pathan, Kaul, Jadav and obviously Kohli have been left out of the ROI squad. But bowling looks healthy and Sehwag named Jadeja as one of his specialist spinners. It'll be interesting to see how he performs.
You must be joking. I wouldn't have expected that comment from you given how closely you follow the domestics - Mukund has been one of the most prolific domestic openers' date=' Jadeja has been very consistent for some time now and Uday Kaul has had an excellent start to his f/c career - one of the brighter lights in Punjab for a while now.[/quote'] Did you see how Mukund played today? He is absolutely abysmal against short deliveries, and struggles against even 123 km/h clocked half trackers. He even got out one of Dhawal Kurkarni's not so well directed bouncers but it was a no ball. Vijay on the other hand looks better even if he is stonewalling. Agarkar has been bowling very very well with not a single delivery off target and Dhawal, even if very slow in pace, has bowled good line and length and swinging the ball both ways. Rahil Sheikh is disappointing and I'd have preferred Mumbai to pick Netravalkar. If anything, it could have showed us the true potential of the youngster.

Agree. Odd balls were keeping low from the first hour itself and apparently the pitch is not that hard beneath and might start breaking up sooner than expected. Sehwag was struggling with his timing, Vijay has gone into a shell and Mukund is picking up runs through nudges, edges and mistimed strokes. I was surprised to see Agarkar bowling so consistently and so well.

I'd love to see Sharma scoring big against Sree, Munaf and Tyagi. Ojha won't disappoint. Badri is on the crease but he has just Agarkar to keep away and cash in with the rest of Mumbai bowling which is just terrible. What about Vijay and Mukund? Now Tiwari is at crease as well, as Vijay has been dismissed by Dhawal. I'm off to watch these two.

Terrific spell of swing bowling from Agarkar! Balls with which he got the wickets were absolute beauties.
He bowled brilliantly in the entire session. The bouncers were well directed, length was superb and he rarely missed the line. Sehwag normally doesn't cover his off stump and hence when he is not on the top of his game, inswingers have every chance to sneak into the gap between bat and pad. He fornced Vijay to go into the shell and Mukund was trying to wield his bat wildly as he was not at all assured at the crease. I hope Jaffer doesn't overbowl him as the other bowlers are bowling terribly apart from Kulkarni who we can term as a line and length bowler with a bit of swing both ways.

Saheba :banghead: ROI undone by another bad decision' date=' Badri gawn.[/quote'] I was surprised how Shaikh's delivery can head towards the stump with the kind of action that he has. All his deliveries have been wide outside the off stump, sometimes too wide. Earler Saheba was forbidding Agarkar from polishing the ball. And I heard ICC has included him in their list of umpires? God help cricket!

Shaikh reminds me a bit of Syed Rasel the Bangla Bowler, He has a round arm action, leading the ball to slide down leg, lacks control, but well this is only his second season at this level, he also needs to work on his fitness. P.S. The High point of this Post Lunch Session has been Porky Powar's scrambling dive to save a boundary, Commitment. Powar picks up Saha.
