Cricketics
remember Ishant Sharma? he was asked to join the test squad in South Africa after Pathan was sent home. what happend now, he was not selected this time?? Bcci did its childish stuff by asking Ishant to come over to saf to play last game, but then after 2 days, he was asked not to come and stay back in India only.. now he has not been selected in any of those squads.. Sooda
Re: Ishant Sharma??? Im certain Ishant was just there to train and hence learn from the senior player, doubt him playing was ever really on the cards- the guy is young...too young for international cricket I think Link to comment
Chandan
Re: Ishant Sharma??? He is one of the 5 members to join the ODI team in BD. Niranjan Shah said so in the press conference and I heard it. But amazingly none of the reports have mentioned it or even explained who the other 4 are and what have they been chosen for!! Guess they are busy highlighting Sachin and Saurav's omissions only!! veer
Re: Ishant Sharma??? Its in the news.. and they wont join team in BD.. they will join preparation camp in kolkatta The selectors also decided that five extra bowlers would attend the camp in Kolkata. Pankaj Singh, Vijaykumar Yomahesh, Ishant Sharma, Ranadeb Bose, all mediumpacers, and Pragyan Ojha, the young Hyderabad left-arm spinner, will train with the Indian team, although they will not be in contention for places on the Bangladesh tour. Have they been called so that our bowling coach can take a look? Or are they getting all the pace bowlers/bowlers under an umbrella? Link to comment
veer
Re: Ishant Sharma??? it serves multiple purpose.. newbies can interact with senior bowlers, learn some tricks and also get to bowl to senior batsman.. its one of the few better things BCCI is doing IMO... Link to comment
Ranvir
Re: Ishant Sharma??? I've seen some pics of the guy. He looks like a stick. When are the teams in India going to make proper athletes of their cricketers. It's not too hard to put on muscle. Guy's with physiques like Agarkar, Sharma, Sehwag and Powar should not be allowed to play cricket until they build a good physique. Link to comment
Chandan
Re: Ishant Sharma??? Didn't know one needed to be a heavy-weight champion to be a cricketer!!! Anyway, Sachin, Dravid, Ponting, Lara et al are wonderful cricketers. How much muscle do they have? Have you seen McGrath's photograph when he was 19? He was like a ...can't say what, if you think Ishant is like a stick! Cricket is more of a skill game than a power game. If you have ample skill, lack of muscles won't matter. And a growing boy of 18 can't be one with muscles!! Link to comment
