King Tendulkar
Back to back test matches, long stints in the field. I feel age is catching up with the old boys of australia. Collingwood batted well but he is not that good to get double hundred Old man Mcgrath is to old. Ok for 1st spell, but does not have energy for 2nd , 3rd and 4th spells. Also back to back test matches is to much for him. Warne looked average as well, just proving that Murali is the king of spin. Old men in the field, surely the fielding for long spells is going to take their toll for the oap's of Martyn, Hayden, Gilchrist, Mcgrath, Warne, Langer. Is father time catching up with dads army. Father time catches everyone eventually. Link to comment
Gambit
Re: Are dads army creaking? Apart from Lee, they looked like geriatrics yesterday. McGrath was pathetic. Looks like he's playing inspite of a serious heel injury. Link to comment
Legend
Re: Are dads army creaking? that happens to them everytime when they play in adelaide... Remember they struggled to bowl in adelaide, where it was good batting pitch on 2003 game against India, eventually India end up winning that test..(though mcgraw and warne werent there) and it was good batting pitch, good batsmans trouble aussies on such pitches.. but anywayz, all said, as u know its decent batting track, so wait for some bombardments from aussies now,, as this test might go for draw or u never know a pom defeat could be possible too with low batting score in 2nd inng as aus bowlers striking back hard.... The Outsider
Re: Are dads army creaking? England have a good chance of making it 1-1 here. Australia dont really respond all that well to big totals. Its generally unchartered territory for them. Link to comment
Gambit
Re: Are dads army creaking? ^^ But they come back hard in the 2nd innings of their opposition almost all the time. If England do win this test, it will be either by <5 wickets or less than 50 runs. Link to comment
