Akram calls for Mullah Inzi to quit tests. ---------------------------------------------- LAHORE, May 14: Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq should consider retiring from Test cricket, says legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram. "No doubt Inzamam has been a great player but one should go when the time comes," Akram was quoted as saying by the Dawn on Monday. Akram, a former Pakistan captain, was speaking to the reporters after giving some tips to the fast bowlers in the ongoing national training camp at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday. Wasim, however, opined that Inzamam should play at least one more series to break Javed Miandad's record of 8832 Test runs, the highest run scored by a Pakistani in the longer version of the game. Inzamam needs another 19 runs to reach the landmark. Inzamam declared retirement from the One-Day International cricket after Pakistan's first-round exit from the recent World Cup. Akram said that apart from all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, who is lacking match practice, he found the remaining bowlers keen and eager to learn. "They are quick learners and are in good physique. I told them to work hard," he said. Akram, who spent 90 minutes at the camp, said that the appointment of Shoaib Malik as Pakistan captain was a good choice if the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was targeting the next World Cup. He said all cricketers had respect for Malik. Akram, who will impart training to 22 fast bowlers from Wednesday, said more training camps should be organised to produce better bowlers.

Re: Aloo should quit test cricket-Akram poor statement from akram.. Inzamam has still lot of cricket in him.. he keeps producing gr8 knocks and helpful ones when pak is in trouble.. he might lack leadership quality when his team is bowling, but his batting is still gr8...
