Mamu
As good as this decade has been for India, there are two or three series India has played really really bad. Which is the worst ? To Me 1) The WI Series in 2002, India went to WI and lost to a pathetic WI side (not as bad as it now) but still India had a good team. They won the 1st test and went on to lose 2 other tests. Worse yet -- the last test in Jamaica if India could have batted for just 15 more mins -- they would have drawn the series 1 - 1 as rain came after that -- which lasted for 2 days as Zaheer Khan and other tailenders played some really lousy shots. India was opened by the great S S Das(my state mate :-)) -- god what a pathetic player he was! Link to comment
Indianfan_Hyd
SS Das was not even as tall as his bat... That fact stared when he was in a defensive pose to a spinner.. Link to comment
jf1gp_1
what about the series in NZ right before WC Link to comment
Mamu
what about the series in NZ right before WC That also stands up right there, but it was heavily toss dependent. And india lost both tosses. I do believe the result would have been different if India had won atleast one toss. Also NZ had a great team -- with Bonds, Tuffeys, Orams and Flemmings all 100% fit. They were a damn good team IMO. Link to comment
Dinx - the Jinx
^^ both were abroad.. to me, losing a home series to a south african spinner is unpardonable... i'm talking about the 2000 series which we lost of saffers.. thereby losing a home series after 14 long years... Link to comment
coffee_rules
Squaring the test seried in 2005 and losing ODI series horribly to Pak was the worst for me. No home series loss is pardonable. Link to comment
Clarke
^On similar lines the test series in Pak that we lost in the last test .. 2 awful flat tracks drawn, followed by the good Karachi wicket. Having them 39/6 and then losing miserably was as miserable as it could get. Link to comment
HouMac
The SA tour of '07 was pretty ****ing bad. Won the 1st test in spectacular fashion, then lost the other 2. Could've easily won the 3rd one, but SRT and Dravid's snail-paced batting in the 2nd innings did us in. Should have won that series. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
SS Das was not even as tall as his bat.. :hysterical: Link to comment

IIRC Tendulkar announced his resignation from captaincy just few days before the start of the series and that had a big impact on the outcome. Link to comment
Andy
For me the recent Odi Series loss to Aus hurts me the most!! Unlike the other series mentioned above , This australia wasnt strong enuf!! We were literally beaten by a 'B' team!! Link to comment
Celeste
No one mentioned Banglore 05 against weakest Pak attack.. Razzak & Sami were the opening fast bowlers for Pak in that test :giggle: Link to comment
