Breaking news on TV channels. More than 70 jawans killed as Naxals attack in Chattisgarh. The shooting is still continuing as per reports and around 1000 naxals are said to have attacked the police in 6 different places at a place in Chattisgarh. Biggest ever Naxal attack in India's history. RIP the dead. Hope these Naxals/Maoists ends once and for ever.

Zee News is saying 70 jawans killed while Times Now is saying 30 killed and CNN IBN is saying 20 now All of them are saying attacks still continuing .. but the difference of numbers is too much and so not sure which is the correct number now. Zee News is saying the biggest Naxal attack ever but other channels are not saying it.

This is what happens...when central govt ignores the white elephant in the room and continues day to day w/o resolving issues..... these people must have suffered a lot to have come to this extreme This is becoming more and more Russia-Chechnya conflict ..... and I have read somewhere that Pakistani sleeper cells are trying to provide support to these maoist groups to keep India embroiled in controversies

When i was in India 2 times more than 20 Policemen died due to Mines planted by naxals... and the nos. are increasing day by day .. now 70 Jawans died . Ridiculous !!!!
Come back to India please:nervous: On serious note,it seems the Maoists and the Naxals are able to kill at will with impunity. One thing seems to be emerging from this-Either the Government is incapable of taking on the Maoists and/or lacks the will to take them on ruthlessly. It may not matter to the well guarded politicians but precious, innocent young lives are falling prey to the Naxals thanks to the Government's lack of will to eliminate these terrorists. If the Police and ParaMilitary forces are unable to handle the situation, it is time to assign this task to the army. The Naxals are probably greater enemies of state than external invaders.

even CNN IBN who were saying 20 sometime ago are now saying 65 .. and they are saying a lot more casualties might occur as a lot of the jawans are in critical conditions

Asking the poorly trained police to handle the CPM Maoists is like asking them to be massacred. I think it is time the Indian govt climb down from its high horse and start using air power in the form of helicopter gunships to target the Maoists. The area where they operate in Chhattisgarh is heavily mined by the Maoists and without air power it is foolish to even try cleansing operations. Its simply a matter of common sense. With every patrol party at least one helicopter gunship should be sent.

Sshh, India will never attack an offense. When they do, there will be suddenly billions of human rights groups, opposition parties and our masala news channels criticizing their actions .
Leave apart opposition .. any action taken against Maoists seems to irk Mamata Banerjee who is an ally itself .. she seems to be taking every safe step including the Naxals to make sure she topples the WB govt. in 2012 Regarding human right groups, Arundhati Roy will be the first to come forward in case of any attack on Naxals In regards to news channels, they would hardly say much against it as they have been saying about an all out offensive against Maoists/Naxals .. they might add some masala for some TRP but they wont oppose IMO .. at most they will bring the human rights activists in their studios to discuss it

The hypocrisy surrounding the Indian society - media, politicians, people - in the contrasting reactions to Islamic terrorists and Naxalite militants is amusing. Imagine the reaction if this or a similar attack was carried out by Muslim terrorists, this thread would have been 500 posts long for starters by now.

It is the bread and butter of the leftists and liberals to create false equivalence between the naxals and the state and justify the violence perpetrated by the former.

This shall hopefully serve as a wake up call to the fact that this is no ordinary problem and requires a no holds barred approach. Dont be shy of sending attack helicopters if need be. They intend to overthrow the entire democratic system for crying out loud, isnt that an open declaration of war if there was one ? What about those fancy drones we got from Israel, the big ass satellites we launch ? Use them here, shall we ?

We know the enemy in both cases but are able to fight with only one of them, which is what frustrates the general audience.
