ViruRulez
The Rajasthan High Court’s decision to ban liquor, music and fireworks after 10 pm have left the Rajasthan Royals frustrated. The ban on liquor and music didn’t affect the Royals’ first IPL-III fixture in Jaipur, since it was a day match. But Sunday’s tie against the Mumbai Indians and the match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 14 are night matches and the ban will be a big dampener not only for the spectators but also for the players. Music and fireworks light up Twenty20 matches. According to a Royals source, the franchise top brass has been involved in hectic parleys to solve various issues ever since its arrival in Jaipur. The local sports council officials had locked the entrance to the IPL and franchise offices on Friday after altercation with the security personnel. “It is surprising that despite being the home team, we have to face so many hurdles. It will be the first time that a match will be a dull affair (entertainment-wise) in Jaipur,†the source added. The Royals had apparently got the clearance for cheerleaders months in advance and yet had to face problems before their first match here. “These issues are affecting us a lot. It’s so easy to conduct matches in Ahmedabad,†the source added. The Royals, it is learnt, are losing heavily on sponsorship, especially after the ban on liquor. “Kingfisher is our co-sponsor and not to be given a liquor permit means huge revenue losses,†the source said. The Royals are also upset with the reported black-marketing of tickets for Sunday’s tie. http://www.hindustantimes.com/specials/cricket/IPL/Jaipur-becomes-a-headache-for-home-team/cricketnews/SP-Article10-529764.aspx At first it Rajasthan Govt. banning cheerleaders and then liquor but those were a bit relaxed later on. Now the Rajasthan High Court has banned liquor, music and fireworks after 10 PM. Ahmedabad also had a huge home support for RR and they were winning all matches there too. RR has huge support in Rajasthan too but they are facing way too many problems. So, will they shift there next year and is it possible to do so. You can also see the cheerleaders wearing visible leggings today. There seems to be way too many restrictions. As it is named Rajasthan Royals so is it possible to shift base to Ahmedabad because then it would not be Rajasthan anymore. :hmmm:
