Currently ranked number 5 in the world by Badminton World Federation :isalute: Saina is the first Indian woman to reach the singles quarterfinals at the Olympics :isalute: She is also the first Indian to win the World Junior Badminton Championships. Saina Nehwal scripted history on June 21 2009, becoming the first Indian to win a Super Series tournament after clinching the Indonesia Open with a stunning victory over higher-ranked Chinese Lin Wang in Jakarta. She didn't disappoint, pulling off a 21-14, 21-16 victory. The Malaysian had been her nemesis in the Indian Open last year, but the focused World No. 6's technical prowess overpowered her opponent, and when she had to negotiate a slight bump in the second game, her decision-making was spot on. A line-call at 13-13 did not go her way, but a mentally-strong Saina rolled on to the quarterfinals, where she now will meet Mew Choo Wong, the 7th seed from Malaysia.
