don_corleone840
i am surprised by sudden romance of english and aussie people with t20 cricket.that shows that how hypocrite these people are. i am waiting for the columns of some old hypocrite english and australian commentator if england win t20 pajama world cup as they were the one who discovered this phrase "WHO CARES ???ITS JUST T20".:finger::finger: Link to comment
Bradman99
It has been gaining in importance in Australia in the last year and a bit and is now taken seriously and I think you can see that by the way players have been given contracts based purely on 20/20's. So I think this is just a bitter comment.. Link to comment
Roshanrocks
England and Australia were pretty serious at this year's world cup. Both the teams never gave any impression of taking it easy. Link to comment
DomainK
Actually it's good that in such a short time we will have three different world champions in this format. It's good for the format's future and cricket's future as well. It's good to see teams like Afghanistan play in such huge events. Whether we like it or not, T20 is the future. Tests will remain the purest form for a chosen few, but T20 is the way to grow. Link to comment

So I kinda agree with the OP. Link to comment
meloveindia
still ... if pointing/clarke had a wish to choose ONLY 1 winning with option from "Ashes or T20 WC" - 10 times out of 10 they would choose Ashes importance of T20 is largely due to IPL Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Their IPL rates will improve dramatically. I bet Watson will be bought for nothing less than 1 million. Link to comment

It's been over a year now since they have taken it 100% seriously. Link to comment

So I think this is just a bitter comment.. I don't think any T20 specialist got a contract this year http://www.cricinfo.com/australia/content/story/455023.html Warner and Hussey suffer from being restricted to international Twenty20 duty and there are concerns, including from the Australian Cricketers' Association, that the lack of incentives for these types of specialists could end in them abandoning their domestic commitments for lucrative international spoils. Both Warner and Hussey have been tried in one-day internationals without sustained success, which restricts their attractiveness to the selectors. Players are rated between one and 20 on their overall limited-overs ability, not just their T20 exploits, before that score is combined with a Test ranking. It's almost impossible to make the list while only appearing in the game's newest format, although Shaun Tait achieved it with help from his one-day potential. Link to comment

Last summer I was getting a haircut in Boston and the barber literally knew everything about T20, the World Cup, who won and everything. I was pretty surprised but it shows how this format will quickly catch on in countries who have little knowledge of cricket. But the guy thought Dubai was in India,...oh well these Americans :haha: Link to comment
