Zimbabwe offer to tour Pakistan for flood victims

Zimbabwe have offered to tour Pakistan to help raise funds for the country's flood victims. Pakistan has suffered severe floods in the last month with more than one-fifth of the country's territory and an estimated 20 million people affected. Pakistan has not staged an international match since the Lahore attacks in March last year but the PCB confirmed Zimbabwe's offer on Saturday. "Yes, they have made a formal contact with us and we highly appreciate their [Zimbabwe's] noble gesture for supporting the cause. They have asked us to provide them with suitable dates for the series," Ijaz Butt, the PCB chairman, told News One TV. "They are willing to come over and play a series as they want to help us raise funds for the flood victims. They have left it up to us to give dates and schedule for the tour," the PCB's media manager Nadeem Sarwar told Reuters. The attack on Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore last year led to the 2011 World Cup matches being moved out of Pakistan. The national team has since had to play 'home' series at neutral venues but a decision to send an ICC World XI to Pakistan made earlier this month and Zimbabwe's offer comes as a major boost.

good gesture.but I suspect they might demand some money
The zimbabwae cricketers did not even have proper kits and despite that they show so much grit and determination on the field. natural athletes, superb fielders.with very limited support, almost zero financial support from the government, poor domestic system, these guys punch more than their combined weight. if i am correct, the Zimbabwaeans have once BEATEN Pakistan in pakistan in a test series, a very strong, star studded pakistan team which had Wasim, Waqar, Anwar....and all. but the current team does not have much experience, would find it tough to handle Ameer, Asif and Ajmal. Zimbabwae team needs lot of financial support and opportunities, but hope their cricket association does not swindle all the funds.

zimbabwe cricket :hatsoff: ..thank u very much ..it must be so depressing for some pak players like aamir umar akmal not to have played in front of the home crowd ..
Im sure the T20's at Edgbaston counted as a home crowd lol, Seems like the whole of Alum Rock was in attendance.
