CRICKET Australia is to announce its first anti-everything officer.

Marcus Probert will start work at CA's Melbourne headquarters this month. His official job title will be senior officer of codes and policies. His mission, put simply, will be to thwart evil. He will drill into players the anti-corruption, anti-doping, anti-racism and anti-alcohol messages. "If you are paranoid when you go to India, you cannot go to India," Cricket Australia's Indian-born director Harry Harinath said. "Not everyone has a link to a bookmaker. "So many people in India have a tremendous knowledge and passion for the game of cricket. The connection between supporters of our game and the fans is important. We must be careful not to take that contact and interaction away."
