CHE PUJARA is the real deal!

Recommended Posts

comes out and scores at run a ball against a quality international bowling attack on a diabolical 5th day pitch with earthquake-like cracks. magnificent cover drives, brilliant use of the feet, near perfect timing. guy was middling everything. he even played a pull on the first short ball he got (something murali vijay can't do BTW). this kid has everything. and at the risk of exaggerating, he even looks like brian lara when he comes down the track to the spinner, high elbow and shuffle and before hitting down the ground. his confidence is huge, and as ravi shastri said, he looks like he already has several tests under his belt. you wouldnt even know that sehwag got out for 7 the way these two are playing. these two guys are scoring so fast and making a mockery out of whats supposed to be a tricky 5th day pitch. Pujara - the real deal. :two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up:

no jinxing. anyway, his score today doesn't matter. he could get out first ball after lunch. its his first test and the most important thing is that we know he can play at this level and do really well. end of story. he is going to pile up the runs in the future..

its early to say all this. i know. but i trust my eye. and this guy looks like he can play. looked so comfortable against some really quick bowling on a tough pitch in a difficult situation. batsmen go numb in the 4th innings, that includes indian seniors. but this guy is playing so confidently. he is probably making nathan hauritz reconsider his career choice as a cricketer LOLololol you cannot imagine a more testing situation for a rookie to make his debut. and this kid is killing it in this kind of situation! u can't ignore that.

A very tough situation to come in and has done well. Looks confident and not one to be bogged down. Plays the ball very low to the ground and seems to get as close on the bounce as possible when he strikes it. Also, noticing that the ball may keep low, he is holding the bat very low...probably to counter the variable bounce. The rest is all temperament. Good stuff.

Dhoni was shielding the MO from inexperience rather than shielding Dravid. It was a wise move to throw in Pujara whose postive intent mixed with the enthu of a debutant was a masterstroke that seems to have worked till now. Ball will start to reverse now and a newbie at 5 would have been risky. Loved what I saw of Pujara, India's future is not that bleak after big 3 retire.
