The Outsider
Whose contribution is greater - Dhoni's to the Indian team or nballa's to ICF? Who should be dropped first? Link to comment
Nova
^ Dhoni needs to be dropped pronto and Nballa should be made admin of ICF. Link to comment
jf1gp_1
yup the guy who was responsible for our being No 1 test side should be dropped. i am sure you forgot how it all started , it was Dhoni who batted with tail held on to that draw in england which resulted in us winning test series that started it all Link to comment
nballa
this thread will be bumped and will explode like a supernova after the new zealand ceries. just watch as it turns more and more believers into non believers. Link to comment
Zero_Unit
He is just going through some bad times. Why even bother bashing Dhoni. look at how many matches we are winning under him!! He is doing ok so leave him alone! Link to comment

He is doing ok so leave him alone! i dont want excess baggage being carried around. i need a team full of matchwinners and dhoni right now is just a space filler. its irrelevant that we are winning matches without his contribution. if you owned a company and had an employee who is nothing but a paper pusher earning a lot of money would you just let him stay just because its turning profits. would you turn a blind eye towards the wasted resource. i want dhoni outta here Link to comment
fineleg
Can you answer this question though? http://indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=1199479&postcount=33 Is W.Saha a matchwinner? or Parthiv Patel or KKD? or is there someone else that is magically going to be found by a scout? Debutant
I have never rated Dhoni highly for his batting. His technique is destined to fail in swinging and bouncing conditions. But he is an excellent WK. But we cannot forget his captaincy. He has earned the respect of all his team mates.Even the likes of Sachin Dravid Harbhajan dont have any problem playing under his captaincy. His man management skills are excellent. He can motivate the team.Almost always keeps his cool under pressure. So we dont have any better candidate for captaincy than Dhoni right now in India. So IMO his contribution is immense. Link to comment

King Tendulkar
Ironically Dhonis keeping was superb in 2nd test. In 1st test it was awful as if not concentrating and not focused(as with keeping need to me focused 1000% to deliver). Clearly someone gave a rocket up his backside in between tests and in 2nd test his glovework was best I have seen it. He is a great keeper if he concentrates, hate it when he becomes casual and thus sloppy. Needs to cut down on work load to remain mentally sharp. Needs to skip odd odi series or at least just play as a batter. Batting is ok in tests and has improved a lot, still room for improvement but neverthless decent with bat as average of 40 shows(before gilly era that would be deemed superb, so maybe still should be viewed as very good). Good cpatain though. He contributes a lot and well worth place in team. Just needs to concentrate more on his keeping and not be sloppy. As when focused and pumped while keeping his glovework is awesome Link to comment
sudheer kumar
doesn't score runs. poor wicketkeeping. poor technique i sometimes wonder if he is even test class. we need a specialist in the keeper position and someone who can contribute with the bat. everytime he comes out to bat we must mentally get prepared for the tail. and please don't say captaincy because i didn't see any moves from him to positively influence any match and if it were it can just be attributed to sheer luck. Lets face it the guy has been lucky most of his career and its just a coincidence that he is playing in a team of matchwinners right now and gets all credit for it. I think you does not watched whole Ind vs Aus test series......... A small example is there. Ponting lose his wicket to Ishanth in first test match. View dismissal RT Ponting* c Raina b Sharma Just watch Raina's fielding position. there you can find dhoni's move Link to comment
vamos_rafa
^ Also sending Pujara up the order. That was a very good and bold move in the circumstances. It requires lot of guts to do so. This is one aspect about Dhoni's captaincy which we don't pay much heed to,the faith showed on the youngsters. Don't forget he was the one who gave PK the new ball in the CB series final, gave Amit Mishra the ball ahead of Anil Kumble and sending CP is the latest case in point. Agreed that his decisions are baffling at times but when they work they are absolutely magical. Now you call it luck or tactical acumen ,that's your discretion. Link to comment
vamos_rafa
:hmmm: Oh..maybe that was a misplaced fact.. Amit Misra was brought in place of AK. My apologies. Link to comment
