large part of it was false propaganda by the media
china is nothing in team sports ... soccer, cricket, rubgy(lost 95-0 to india recently), hockey, kabaddi etc. they mostly excel in boring indoor sports.
:hysterical: Thanks for the Comic relief, Vaibhav..I'm feeling much better now on a gloomy Wednesday morning..

Agree with Asterix. We are far behind than the other nations.Other good nations like China Japan and Korea.
wow you learnt that form these Games ? lol looks like , some of you have unrealistic expectations from these guys ..we haven't been really bad so far , only that we should have got a couple of golds in shooting . our main hopes are in Boxing & wrestling , may be archery ..we will win a few medals in Athletics too . if we do better than the last Asian games , that's a positive ...we won our first ever gymnastic medal & first swimming medal in 24 years . I will be happy if we can win 10 medals in the next Olympics , which is possible .

If China, Japan, S Korea and other Asian countries participated in CWG, India would've scrapped the bottom of medals table. Let's not kid ourselves.. I'm also impressed by the professional hosting of the Asian games in Guangzhou..What a mess we created in hosting CWG Delhi.. What an utter mess..
You have obviously not seen the goof ups in the events because none of that has been reported. Matches are being played in front of near empty stadiums like CWG except for swimming and Gymnastics!! The scoreboards at a number of stadiums are not working. Lights went off at the swimming stadum for sometime during today's events!! When badminton or TT matches are on, there is so much of noise despite repeated reminders by the officials. The courts are so slippery, a number of players have hurt their knee and ankles so far and bowed out of competition. Judges have been blatantly biased in favour of chinese athletes., Have seen that in Taekwando, weightlifitng, shooting etc. Athletes from other nations are being penalised un-necessarily. The boxing ring doesn't look world class at all. The cricket/football stadium has uneven grass all around with a few barren patches. The official announcement systems goes mute many a times!! Telecast of the games has been horrible so far (DD/Ten Sports are taking feed from a chinese broadcaster), CWG coverage going out to international audience was much better!! There have been complaints of the heating systems in games village rooms not working. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am assuming you are following these games only on the net. If you watch the live telecast, you will hear many more such stories!! As for your point regarding Asian powerhouses participating in CWG and that hampering India's chances, obviously they are miles ahead of us. But remember had their guys played a part in CWG, many of them would have got injured/lost energy and bowed out of the Asian games as well. How is it that our shooters beat the chinese contingent easily in world cups, but are producing poor scores in the Asian games? Obviously those guys are good enough but not at their peak currently like the chinese who have prepared well for this event and are peaking at the right time.

Bindra missed out on one of the shooting event finals cos of wrong scoring . He was given ~7 ,when he had actually hit around ~9 .

Some of the key participants who could have helped us win golds: Chess- Vishy Anand and K Humpy ( 2 indivual golds and the team gold) Tennis: Paes ,Bhuapthi, Bopanna (an individual god and the team gold) Cricket: Women's cricket team Our equestrian team has been disqualified, else we were in with a chance to win 1-2 golds there as well! Not to be. Anyways the likely contenders remaining in competition are: Sania Mirza Saina Nehwal Vijender, Akhil, Suranjoy, Jai Bhagwan in Boxing Marykom in boxing Yogeshwar Dutt, Rajeev Tomar and few other wrestlers Kabbaddi team 4*400 women's relay 4*100 men's relay Vikas Gowda and Krishna Poonia (discuss) Prajusha in women's long jump Tintu Luka in 800m Women's Archery (Individual and team gold) All the best to these guys and others. may they bring home many more medals for the country.

So what happens now' date=' if he was qualified and due to error he was not, what are the rules??[/quote'] The rule says a team has to lodge portest within 15 minutes of the results being published. And in case the protest is disqualified by the technical committee, the team is docked some points. Bindra chose not to protest as it could have resulted in us losing some points and could have resulted in us missing out on the bronze!
