CC..yaar yeh kuch jyada ho Gaya... don;t tell me now..that even you are some rock star or some celebrity that you would need burqa to hide your identity...
Well if Sachin can put on fake daari-mooch to step out of his Mumbai residence, why cant some rock star/celebrity wear a niqaab or a burkha to conceal identity ?!

himesh != muslim.
Okay..not muslim...still..a pop star wearing a burkha going to a muslim shrine is nothing big...stars when not interested in PR campaign and when they genuinely want to go somewhere often disguise themselves so that they can have a good time and not get beseeched by the papparazi and autograph-hunters at every corner.

A pop-star not interested in PR ? This entire drama was FOR publicity. Why would he want to go to a muslim shrine ? and then decide to wear a burqa ? and then get "caught" doing it ? all for bloddy publicity. Pity those who are having a serious discussion on the intentions of this Himesh guy.

Court ordered payout 30 years after divorce Last Updated: 6:00pm BST 28/06/2007 A wealthy retired builder was ordered to pay more money to the woman he divorced nearly 30 years ago after a judge heard she had "fallen on hard times", the Court of Appeal was told yesterday. Dennis North, 70, was divorced from his first wife Jean, 61, in 1978 - a year after finding out she was having an affair with the man she later went to live with. In 1981 he made a financial settlement with the woman he married in 1964, buying her a house and investments. Over the years, he increased her assets so that she would have been able to live comfortably for the rest of her life, the judges were told. But in 1999, she sold up and moved to Australia where she saw her capital dwindle because of bad investments and what the court was told was a lifestyle beyond her means. A district judge awarded her a lump sum of £202,000 in April last year despite agreeing that Mrs North's money troubles had nothing to do with her former husband and he had no further responsibility towards her. Since his divorce from his first wife, Mr North had prospered and his wealth is now estimated at between £5 million and £11 million, the court was told. Mr North, who was left to bring up the three children of the marriage and has two children by his second wife, wants the Court of Appeal to quash the award. Philip Moor QC, representing him, told the panel of judges headed by Lord Justice Thorpe that Mrs North had made no attempt to find a job since 1977, when she was 32. When she sold all her assets and emigrated, she chose to live in an expensive part of Sydney, he said. If she had stayed in the North of England she would have been comfortably off for the rest of her life. "The whole purpose of divorce is to disentangle people so they can lead independent lives," he told the three judges. Mr Moor told Lord Justice Thorpe, sitting with Lord Justice May and Mr Justice Bennett, that it was not his client's fault that his first wife "has fallen on hard times and she cannot now go back for a second bite of the cherry". But Mrs North's counsel, Deborah Bangay QC, said it was not her client's fault that her investments had gone wrong and the District Judge took account of her ex-husband's wealth and the fact that she needed additional support when he gave her an award at the "bottom end of the spectrum". She added: "This was not a second bite at the cherry, but it is what are her reasonable needs. The court was entitled to take into account the obvious wealth of her former husband. It was an extraordinarily modest award set against his wealth." The court reserved its judgment to a date to be fixed.

Big Wendy the muscular whippet Rare genetic mutation increases muscles, weight of sleek breed Kim Westad, Times Colonist Published: Monday, June 25, 2007 People mistake her for a pitbull with a pinhead, but Wendy the whippet is one rare breed. omgdog.jpg So rare that the Central Saanich dog recently graced the New York Times. She also had several of her photos shown on The Today Show, all because of a rare genetic mutation that has led to her being the Incredible Hulk of dogs. Wendy is a 27-kilogram rippling mass of muscle. Forget the so-called six-pack stomach: Wendy has a 24-pack. And the muscles around her neck are so thick, they look like a lion's ruff. "People have referred to her as Arnold Schwarzenegger," says doting owner Ingrid Hansen, stroking Wendy's sleek black coat and white chest. Wendy was recently part of a genetics study done in the U.S. on mutation in the myostatin gene in whippets, which resemble greyhounds in appearance. The National Institute of Health study reported that whippets with one single defective copy of the gene have increased muscle mass that can enhance racing performance in the breed, known for speeds up to 60 kilometres an hour. But whippets with two mutated copies of the gene become "double-muscled," like Wendy. It has been seen before in one human, and also in mice, cattle and sheep, says the study. The uber-muscled whippets are called "bullies," not because of their nature -- Wendy likes nothing better than a good back scratch and isn't shy about sitting in your lap to ask for one -- but because of their size. She's about twice the weight of an average whippet, but with the same height and small narrow head -- and the same size heart and lungs, which means she probably won't live as long as normal whippets. Hansen has had Wendy, now four, since she bought the dog from a Shawnigan Lake breeder when she was eight months old. Wendy landed in clover. She lives on an acreage, runs around with other dogs and horses, sleeps on Hansen's bed and pretty much anywhere else she wants to. People are often afraid when the muscle-bound dog runs up to them on her dainty whippet-thin legs, but they soon realize she's friendly, Hansen said. © Times Colonist (Victoria) 2007

'Taleban-like beard' sees Metallica frontman detained at airport james4.jpg James Hetfield performs at the Live Earth concert at Wembley Stadium in London. Photo / Reuters James Hetfield, frontman of US metal rockers Metallica, was detained at a British Airport before his appearance at London's Live Earth gig on Saturday. According to British newspaper The Times, the rocker jetted into Luton airport ahead of Saturday's Live Earth concert at Wembley Stadium - where his legendary rock band was due to perform - but was halted by officials before he could leave the terminal. The legendary frontman was then subjected to a brief line of questioning, after which security-conscious officials were left red-faced when Hetfield explained he was a member of a world-famous rock band. The Times claims Hetfield's friends blame his "Taleban-like beard" for the interrogation. Metallica formed in 1981 and have become one of the most successful heavy metal bands selling 90 million records worldwide. The band, currently touring the UK with their Sick of the Studio tour, will release a new album towards the end of this year. - NZHERALD STAFF

Same-sex marriage in Delhi shocks families ddum6.jpg NEW DELHI: When Geeta and Babli became friends after they met at a wedding five years ago, nobody imagined that they would end up getting married one day. The two got married at an Arya Samaj temple in Karol Bagh on Sunday and their families promptly disowned them. Sparks first flew when the 23-year-old Geeta and 33-year-old Babli, both residents of Bappa Nagar in central Delhi's Karol Bagh area, met during Geeta's elder sister's marriage to Babli's younger brother. And then passions flared as the two continued their secret liaison. Their love remained hidden and it was not until two years ago that the families suspected a lesbian relationship. "Geeta used to often come and spend the night. For a long time, we thought they were just good friends. It was around two years ago that I began to suspect that it was more than just friendship," said Lajpat, Babli's brother. "Besides, Babli had been involved with two women prior to Geeta. My family immediately alerted Geeta's family." Babli's family claims that a month ago Babli and Geeta eloped. On Sunday, they landed at Babli's house declaring that they had got married. Both families however refused to accept them or let them in. On Wednesday night, they reached Geeta's house and tried to convince the family one more time to accept their wedding. There was apparently an argument between the couple and Geeta's family which led Geeta to call the police.
