ShebbySB
Nopp Sree bowled 143.2 kph & I'm not sure that was the fastest but the speeds of the match 1 & 2 is right on the button.

rkt.india
Dinda bowled 147.2 today. That didnt look 147 though because he hardly touched 140, very few deliveries..he was pretty accurate. yadav was very wayward. he needs to bowl from closer to the stumps

Misu243
Really hope Varun Aaron gets a chance in the next game. I read somewhere he was in Kolkata Knight Riders last year and was fit for last few matches but wasn't given the green signal
ViruRulez
Impressed a bit by Dinda but not impressed by Yadav this time round. He was in national reckoning too and got to work at top level and I thought he would have worked on his accuracy in this one year. But he is just trying to bowl fast and nothing else. Seriously missing on accuracy. From the video I saw of Varun Aaron he also looked to be missing on accuracy. Accuracy and consistency are two important traits that are crucial for a fast bowler. Without accuracy speed does not make any sense. Steyn would never have been Steyn without accuracy. Impressed with Dinda's improvement though both pace as well as accuracy. This is the problem in india we need ready made great bowlers with pace, swing, accuracy which leads to bowlers focussing on accuracy cutitng down on pace.Accuracy will come in time but pace will not so we have to let these guys loose . Yadav is still still only 23. He must concentrate on bowling fast and improve on his accuracy with pace, but he must learn and to it quickly. rkt.india
Bowling fast without half decent stock delivery will give us more VRV singhs not Brett Lees. THis guy is a hack. Brett Lee was pretty much like him at the start. Wasim Akram when first came used to slant the ball across. Mitchell Johnson is always wayward but still has better record than many Indian accurate and swing bowlers in India. What it says? They will learn to swing and accuracy with time. They are still young. They cannot learn all this by playing domestic. Zak was same when he first came. Used to bowl fast but bit wayward at times. Malinga was same wayward when he first started, used to horrible wide deliveries. he didnt have any stock delivery then he developed yorker as his stock delivery. Very few bowlers are born champion. They all learned it here. Why cant these bowlers. We need to encourage them to bowl fast. Fast bowlers take time to develop. Especially in out country where there is no fast bowling legacy. None of the bowlers i see don't look international class.

When I first saw Malinga, he didn't look international class. He used to bowl lot of no balls and huge wides down the leg side and off side and wasnt even regular, even Zoysa used to play ahead of him. But they never rejected him and kept him in the fray and gave him time to improve. They didn't have any special skills. Wasim Akram himself admits that he learn to swing the ball 3-4 years later after he started playing international cricket. He was guided by Imran Khan in first 2-3 years of his career. In an interview Imran Khan said that he used to stand at long or long off and Akram used to come to him before every ball he bowled and ask him what to do and there was an incident when Imran Khan forgot it because he got busy talking to a fielder and Akram didn't bowl for and stood at hit run up mark. Every one was watching at Akram why he didnt bowl. He looked at Imran then Imran talked to him and he bowled. Similarly, We have Zak who can guide these talented pacers. I want the likes of Yadav, Dinda, Aaron, Tyagi to play at least 20-30 ODIs and bowl along with Zak and you will see the improvement in them. Dinda is pretty experienced in FC so he is a bit better than others.
vvvslaxman
20 to 30 ODIs without expecting results.. Good luck with that . Unless we are talking 150k here.. i don't see any point in giving 20 to 30 matches without expecting results. Wasim AKram took 10 wickets in his very second test. He was a special talent. It is a blasphemy to compare him with the average bowlers we have. Akram was not just bowling gun barrel straight. He had prodigious seam movement in that match. He was pretty much unplayable. yoda
I don't know how accurate these speed guns are. That ball from M Morkel to get his first wicket looked pretty fast, but was clocked less than 140.

The camera work is horrible. Jerky. If you let some of the ICFers select the team. they will look at speed on the TV and select the bowlers. On helpful tracks even Collingwood can be unplayable. Ganguly destroyed Pakistan in toranto with his gentle medium swing bowling. There was nothing in most of Indian pitches. You cannot expect them to swing it like banana in these conditions. Even Zak was clobbered by Jadeja who struggled to cross circle in World T20. We should not expect these bowlers to do miracles on these pitches from first game itself. It happens steadily, does not happen overnight.

As a bowler you would feel seriously discouraged if you don't get enough wickets. If he goes for 70 odd runs in 7 overs for 7 or 8 matches..and still bowl at 145k.. would you persist with him?
