The first F1 race in India is coming to Noida at the Jaypee Sports city :two_thumbs_up: From wikipedia

The Indian Grand Prix will be a Formula One race held in at the Jaypee Group Circuit in India. The first event is scheduled (subject to homologation of the circuit) to take place on October 30, 2011 as the 17th race of the 2011 Formula One season.[2] The race will be held at the Jaypee Group Circuit in Greater Noida, 50 km from Delhi.[28] The circuit will be roughly 5.14 kilometres (3.19 miles) and will be designed by F1 circuit designer Hermann Tilke. The track will be spread in an area of 875 acres. The initial seating capacity is speculated to be around 150,000. However there are plans to increase the seating capacity to 200,000 later on. The sprawling circuit will be a part of Jaypee Green Sports city and will also be used for hosting one or more rounds of Moto GP championships in the year 2012. The 10-year contract for the race has been given to the Indian construction company Jaiprakash Associates.[29] The track in all has 16 largely medium speed corners where F1 cars will lap at an average speed of 210 kph. The back straight will let F1 cars reach 320 kmph making it one of the fastest tracks in the world. The expected F1 car lap time is 1 minute 17 seconds. The organizers have also taken feedback from teams which have done the track analysis via simulators leading to modification of the turn 7 in order to maximize overtaking opportunities into banked turn 10. A grand stand with a capacity of 13,000 will overlook the turn 10 and turn 11 giving the F1 fans an opportunity to be a part of the action.[30]

Ticket is only 10K bucks :D (not sure but the prices of China GP and Malaysia GP are similar and sold out) There will be 150,000 viewing capacity/ tickets this season as per reports ... so that means around 150 crore of ticket sales :woot: .. but the main question is whether the sport would be embraced that much by Indians to shell out that kind of money .. the positive is the SRK has been endorsing Force India F1 team for the last few days on TV and maybe there would be extensive promotion in the upcoming months .. the race track is also one of the best in the world as per reports BTW was just thinking about creating a website for it but it seems someone already created the unofficial fan site .. shuru bhi nahin hua aur log already aa gaye websites leke before me :headshake:

This is really old news' date=' posted in other sports section more than once. The question still remains, has the track been approved ?[/quote'] Final checking for approval is in May and then it will be finalized .. there is almost 99.9% that it will be surely approved .. it is the second fastest track in the world as per reports and they were satisfied with the track during the construction last year ... anyways this is a private track of Jaypee and they are handling it .. so you can expect quality here unlike govt. work where most of the money would have been eaten
