DHAKA, May 26: Dav Whatmore will be the man in charge of Team India for the next one year, however, for the new coach, it's back to basics for the Men in Blue. Whatmore has chalked out a plan for Team India for the forthcoming camps. His approach is likely to be simple - No boardroom discussions, nor any master strategies, instead he plans to adopt a simplistic approach, which would be based on instinctive training for Team India. Times Now's reporter Nidhi Tuli managed to get a sneak peek at Whatmore's blueprint. We give you a lowdown. So no more coaching manuals, no straight jacket teaching and no Edward de Bono "thinking hat theories" anymore for Team India. Those processes will be dumped forever by Whatmore and will be replaced by simple basics. As Whatmore believes in instinctive training and in the sheer simplicity of the sport - taking it back to being merely a game between the bat and the ball. Times Now has learnt that when Team India will kick start its camp in Bangalore before the tour to Ireland and England, Whatmore will bring this mode of coaching for Dravid's men. It's no secret that Whatmore has been eager for quite some while now to coach Team India. In fact, it's learnt that he has already chalked out a blueprint for the upcoming camp. And unlike the Chappell way, this time around, the players won't be loaded with too many stats or figures on their past performances. Instead, there will just be a quick verbal feedback session. So if the boys under Guru Greg knew exactly in what order they are to go and bowl and then bat, the nets under Whatmore will be much flexible. Whatmore's Mantra - Keeping it simple is his mantra. - Lot of pep talk for Team India on issues like a) Importance of winning b) Staying together as a team c) Cultivating self belief within the team Whatmore has categorically reiterated that man management has been his biggest learning from his past Sri Lanka and Bangladesh stints. Commenting on the same, Whatmore said: "People talk about man management and that is very high on priority for Team India. Man management will vary from group to group depending on how good they are in terms of skill and performance. There are number of other areas that fall into ingredients of performance." Interestingly, Whatmore wants to be seen as the facilitator of Team India and not an authority on the Indian players. He doesn't believe that Sachin should retire, neither does he think that there's something chronically wrong with Sehwag. He also doesn't hold a grudge against Ganguly, however, the moot question is whether he will be able to survive the BCCI politics. Though he is quietly confident of his ability on the field, however, off the field especially in light of the recent Chappell drama, there's a speck of doubt in his mind.
