Dhondy
Re: Wanderers' will be a catastrophe for India I genuinely expected India to be hammered, so am gobsmacked. At 20 for 2 in the first innings, I thought, " 'Ere we go again". But something happened which I didn't think this team was capable of. Certainly, never dreamt that India would bowl out SA for 84 in their backyard. That's what won us the match. Hats off to Sreesanth and Zaheer. And to the old stagers Laxman, Ganguly, and Kumble. You did us proud. Link to comment
Predator_05
Re: Wanderers' will be a catastrophe for India Takes a big man to admit he was wrong. Hats off to you 'doc...Jeet Mubarak !! :wtg: So do you think India can win the series from here ? A win is fine and dandy, but what matters in the end is the silverware. Link to comment
sandeep
Re: Wanderers' will be a catastrophe for India If you look at the last few years, every big overseas Test win has been followed by a test loss - Zim, WI, Pak, and the one that hurts the most - Aus. Let's hope the team breaks that trend in the next test. Link to comment

Dhondy
Re: Wanderers' will be a catastrophe for India Pred, Sachin and Dravid will have to come to the party if we are to keep our lead in these series. Munaf coming back will be a huge boost, but without the two big men chipping in, India will struggle. If they fire, we are in business. Link to comment

Dhondy
Re: Wanderers' will be a catastrophe for India Still eight days to go, Boss... Under no circumstances should we ever play VRV however. If Munaf's not fit, get Pathan in. Link to comment

Guest dada_rocks
Re: Wanderers' will be a catastrophe for India Jaffer can't survive even an over on durban pitch replace him by pathan.. let vrv be, durban may suit the guy.. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Re: Wanderers' will be a catastrophe for India Now all of a sudden Pathan is a test opener. This is madness. If Jaffer is to be replaced then Gambhir is the man. If people are so desperate for him to play then he comes in for VRV. However, if Munaf is fit he misses out! Link to comment

King Tendulkar
Re: Wanderers' will be a catastrophe for India Open with Dada if needed' date=' but IKP should be in the team[/quote'] Why? What in the last 10 months has Pathan done to justify this. As for Gangs opening that is mad. You need top order specialists. Putting gangs as opener does him no favours nor the team. As for those saying Pathan should open, reminds me of the bad old days of people like Prabhakar and Nayan Mongia opening. We need proper openers not these mickey mouse make shift options. Either continue with Jaffer or bring in Gambhir. And thankfully this is what the selectors will do. In fact I guarantee they will continue with Jaffer as he has only failed in 1 game were all opners failed from both sides on tricky track. They will not have forgotten his stellar contributions in windies series. Link to comment

King Tendulkar
Re: Wanderers' will be a catastrophe for India Why go for makeshift when you have Jaffer and a Gambhir who has been in great from domestically all year. Makes no sense. Pathan would not have a clue up top. He is not that good, simple as that. Useful number 8 yes, but opener give me a break. He would not last 5 seconds up top Link to comment

shailesh
Re: Wanderers' will be a catastrophe for India Prabhakar used to open for Delhi/North in domestic IIRC, also mongia had some decent batting in ranji etc. IKP just doesn't fit the criteria even as a make shift. Link to comment
shailesh
Re: Wanderers' will be a catastrophe for India Open with Dada if needed' date=' but IKP should be in the team[/quote'] in the current setup the only spot IKP can be considered is of Gangulys. Now since Gangs played 2 decent knock and bowled one half decent over (hit Kallis :lmao: ) he stays. Motu stays for some inspiring fielding and a half decent knock in 2nd inning. Only changes to consider are Munaf for VRV and Gambhir for Jaffer. Link to comment
