Isn't it illegal for Steve davis to be umpiring? In one over, he gives 2 consecutive thick edges as lbws and then calls it a 5 ball over. Disgusting.
he probably just had the elderly moment, India just got lucky that this didn't happen yesterday or the match would not had gone till lunch on 5th day :eyedance:

The disgusting point is that with UDRS both of them would have been deemed as not-outs. Don't blame Davies, blame BCCI and the Indian players who kept refusing it. UDRS may not be conclusive on tight decisions, but will eliminate those shockers.

wat if the refferals were utilsed by Gauti n Dravid already? thats my grouse with UDRS.It depends so heavily on utilisation by players however not defending Dhoni n co.they should have it as its still miles better than umpires

They will be "utilised" if the decision stood out. If a decision is changed they are left with the original number of attempts. Players should know what to refer and what not to. Not knowing that fact is not a problem of UDRS, but of players. SL - IND series in 2008 was a good example. SL players ONLY asked for UDRS when they knew that they had nicked it when given LBW or when they knew it was not when given for bat pad. But very less for marginal LBWs.
