wobblydoggy
Is it true that England has failed to beat India at TB since 1960? I am not sure. If so it will be another great change to England's fortunes by this great new team when we win:haha: Link to comment
Trichromatic
Looks like Gambhir won't play. What Indian team will do now? Zaheer Khan has been ruled out of the second Test which begins in Nottingham on Friday, MS Dhoni has said. There had been doubts about Zaheer's availability for the match after he pulled out with a hamstring injury while bowling in England's first innings on the first day of the Lord's Test. India have Munaf Patel and Sreesanth as back-up seam options. India's other injury concern surrounds Gautam Gambhir who, Dhoni said, was doubtful "as of now" after injuring his left elbow during the Lord's Test. He is being given some time, Dhoni said, and a decision on him would be taken on the morning of the Test. He didn't train yesterday but was at nets today. India have limited options at opener, with Virender Sehwag not expected to be match fit before the third Test. India go into the Trent Bridge Test 1-0 down in the four-match series; England will go to No 1 in the Test rankings if they win the series by a two-Test margin. http://www.espncricinfo.com/england-v-india-2011/content/current/story/525093.html Will we see this team in second test? Mukund Yuvraj (playing match after long time) Dravid Sachin Laxman Raina Dhoni Harby/Munaf PK Ishant Sree (Playing match after for long time) Link to comment

zen
Big blow for India. Now both bowling and batting will have to deliver equally as you can't expect Ind to bat out the opposition w/ Sehwag and now GG likely to miss out As destiny would have it, Ind's most hated cricketer (after Bhajji), Sree, is the one key guy who could tilt the game for India. :haha: X1, considering the unfits: - Mukund - Dravid - Laxman - Tendu - Raina - Yuvi - Dhoni - PK - Ishant - Sree - Munaf / Mishra PS GG seems to be available so not as bad as I initially thought Link to comment

Cricketics
Down with Injuries - India WILL conquer land of Sherlock Holmes India have already lost it's most pivotal bowler - Zaheer Khan. It's like early 2011 all over again for England as they have started celebrating like they did in Ashes. The media, the public have already agreed that this touring INdian side is no where as good as England. But well, thats not the first time. India have seen this happen during all recent tours. From 2002 to 2011. From Ajit Agarkar's century at Lord's test to 2011, India have managed to reach no. 1 officially in ranking chart, but yet the media still continues to show ignorance. Being passionate about your country is one thing, but ignoring what world champions can do is one. England having won first test, look to be pretty good, but Indian team with it's middle order of DRAVID-TENDULKAR-LAXMAN, are still the best trio to have played together in any batting line up. One team can rack up over 500+ twice against Indian bowling, but it will be hard to breakthrough this middle order consistently. With Ishant Sharma peeking well, and Praveen Kumar looking promising to take atleat 3 wickets everytime he turns up, one more help from any of the bowler will make India an ideal unit. They want their third bowler to click. Whether its Harbhajan or Mishra, or Sreesanth, one would have to fill Zaheer's bowling slot and make it count. India would look to repeat perth at Trent Bridge as they hope their premier bat Gambhir is fit enough to turn up for 2nd test. This INdian team will be hard to beat 2 times in a row. No other team has been able to do this in long long time. England would have to play some real special cricket. India shall make it 1-1 and will be on the road to CONQUER THE LAND OF SHERLOCK HOLMES. LET'S GET THEM INDIANS. Link to comment

Theoretcally, anyone replacing Zak would be the 3rd seamer/2nd spinner because if that bowler was good enough to fill in Zak's shoes, he would have been in the 11 in the first place :P Link to comment
Cricketics
Eveywhere you read. Whichever tabloid, English commies etc. I haven't heard much of Sky commies, but whatever little I heard from them, all were speakin trash and had accepted India as a mediocre team. Barring BUMBLE, I must say. Nasser, Ian, David Gower(even though he's best of the lot), all look to be like India don't have the bowlers needed to win. England have done enough to win the series. Rajiv
Sherlock - no man..lets get modern..land of harry potter or harry puttar In addition, as we keep touring our animosity towards the host country has started increasing. We seem to get bitter and bitter, have no patience, react as if it's end of the world, question everything under the sun. We are passionate about the game but lets not make it WW3, at times I feel India needs another sport to be crazy about Link to comment

Also we do have other sports which Indians are really passionate about. I don't know if you will agree with me on this, but it has lot of lot of Tennis and Soccer fans, but because of our massive population and 90% atleast being cricket fanatics, the other sports fanatics don't really come in picture. Those 10% are still plenty for a massive size country as ours is, but then again 90% of the huge country like INdia deals with CRICKET, so it's hard for some other sport's fan to get as much attention. saneindian
Lets hold onto all the chances created by our bowlers and see the difference. We need to go back to being a very safe catching unit despite being a mediocre fielding side in tests. We catch everything that comes our way and we will win. Link to comment
Fontaine
Looks like GG may sit out as well and Dravid may have to open. UV will be the likely replacement' date=' IMO.[/quote'] If UV does play then I would go with four pacers and drop bhajji. Link to comment
Trichromatic
If UV does play then I would go with four pacers and drop bhajji. It will be a better option. Dhoni will have more options. Though I doubt Yuvraj's bowling ability in test cricket. Link to comment

Really one of the easiest and most important saying in cricket is "catches win matches" Never gets old. So important. We need better effort from Dhoni behind the stumps. He has been total shadow from the last tour. Also I would like to see dravid-Raina-Laxman. Yes 3 slips annd a gully for our seamers. In gully I would prefer Mukund or maybe Sachin. Link to comment
