King
Top class straight and on drives by Sunny. The bats those days weren't as great but the timing by Sunil Gavaskar was top class in this inning. http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=5,1,52,701' standby='Loading Microsoft Windows Media Player components...' type='application/x-oleobject'> http://microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/en/download/' id='mediaPlayer' name='mediaPlayer' displaysize='4' autosize='-1' bgcolor='darkblue' showcontrols="true" showtracker='-1' showdisplay='0' showstatusbar='-1' videoborder3d='-1' width="320" height="285" src="http://www.indiancricketfans.com/files/Gavaskar.wmv" autostart="false" designtimesp='5311' loop="false"> Launch in external player Link to comment

King
That's right Cricketics this is the one from the tied test. What a fantastic game that must have been? Boon, Deano, Border, Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Shastri at their best. Surely that test match should rate as one of "THE" best in the history of cricket. Link to comment
Cricketics
yep i knew it was the tied test match..it surely was a fantastic game ravi.. they showed this game 7 days in a row back in 03 on tv in aus so i just clearly remember this..it revived my memory.. i remember this from 86 only.. . i got this one on disc too. amazing game and that umpire raised his bloody finger in the end for which he registered his name in history and made manninder singh a part of it too.. poor Shastri was left stranded @ non striker end Link to comment
King
Yup that's right. I got this DVD a while ago and is still one of the preferred ones I watch every now and then. Link to comment
Guest dada_rocks
was tie thanks to indina umpires penchant for writing his name in history books.. that guy apparnelty accepted he gave Maninder singh out because he wanted it to be tie.......sinsh was playing shot ball pitched a foot outside off-stump and even hit him at least half foot outside off stump and if u see the video umpires finger went up in a flash.. he didn't even think about it Link to comment
Ram
There are good straight drives and then there are the ones by Sachin. We can see a million videos of a million batsman hitting a straight drives , but nothing can match Sachin's Punch , power , timing and placemnt in his's ones. Link to comment
gator
even before i opened this thread, i knew it was Sunny, that you were talking about from the title of this thread.... his jab drives were amazing.... Link to comment

Lurker
Superb shot that. Thanks for sharing Ravi. His cover-drive off Mcdermott in the same video is also top class. Right on the knees. Great batsmanship. Link to comment

What a joy it was to see Shiva fox Mianded with a leggi and Sadanand Vishwanath taking off the bails with ease. Link to comment
