More... 1/No one has hit a century in an international Twenty20 match. Ricky Ponting went closest for Australia against New Zealand in 2005 - in the very first Twenty20 international - but finished on 98 not out scored from 55 balls. 2/The highest team score was the 250 for three Somerset scored against Gloucestershire last year. They evidently like the opposition: they had hit 228 for five against them the season before. 3/Cameron White, predictably an Australian, holds the highest individual score, thumping an unbeaten 141 (14 fours, six sixes, 70 balls) for Somerset against Worcestershire last summer. He also shares the second-highest total of 116 not out. 4/White also hit the most sixes, 21, in last season's Twenty20 Cup and returned the highest strike-rate of just over 180 per 100 balls. 5/Ryan Sidebottom didn't manage a maiden in his four overs for Notts against Surrey in last season's semi-final, but still posted the most economical figures of the season by conceding just seven runs. 6/Stuart Broad was so successful in the Twenty20 Cup last summer, conceding just 4.50 runs an over for Leicestershire, that he won a call-up to England's one-day squad. 7/The inaugural World Twenty20 Cup will be held in South Africa from Sept 11-23 this year. England play Zimbabwe and Australia in their group matches. 8/Teams are penalised six runs if they fail to bowl the full 20 overs in their allocation of 75 minutes. 9/A crowd of 26,500 turned up to watch Middlesex versus Surrey in 2004, the first Twenty20 match at Lord's, the largest attendance for a county game other than a one-day final since 1953. 10/Gerard Brophy hit the fastest 50 on British soil last season for Yorkshire against Derbyshire, smashing 12 fours in reaching the milestone off only 14 balls. 11/'Win the toss and bat' seems to be the mantra in Twenty20. Of 79 matches last summer, 57 captains chose to bat first, and 42 of them led their teams to victory. However, Leicestershire were the first county to bat first in a final and win. 12/James Anyon, the Yorkshire medium-pace bowler, conceded 60 runs off his four overs against Gloucestershire, the most expensive in the competition last year, but had the consolation of a wicket. 13/Batsmen must be ready to take guard, or in position at the bowler's end, within 90 seconds of a wicket falling. 14/Surrey attracted crowds of more than 10,000 to each of their four games at the Oval last summer. 15/David Masters, of Leicestershire, was carted for 30 runs in just one over by Mark Ealham, Nottinghamshire's former England all-rounder. 16/Middlesex will wear pink outfits in the Twenty20 Cup this season in support of their partnership with Breakthrough Breast Cancer. 17/Only two fielders are allowed outside an inner circle for the first six overs of an innings. 18/There is a campaign gathering pace to have Twenty20 cricket included in the Olympic Games, possibly as soon as London 2012. 19/Surrey and Leicestershire have appeared in all four Twenty20 Cup finals days. Lancashire have qualified for two; Essex, Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Nottinghamshire, Somerset and Warwickshire one each. 20/Leicestershire beat Notts by four runs to become the first county to win the trophy twice. However, Notts still believe the last ball of the match, a full-toss above waist height by James Allenby, despatched for six by Will Smith, should have been called a no-ball. If it had been, Notts would have had another ball to try to win the game.
