TBF to Karthick he really upped the scoring late in his innings once he was settled.Scored 60 odd before getting out. we needed 85 of 14 overs when he got out.But bad light stopped play and match ended in draw. And it seems everyone in the match knew bad light meant the match will always be a draw as commentators kept on mentioning that. Also Awana bowled really well regularly around 135k.Even toughed 141k at times late in the day.No other pacer from either side didnt even tough 130 consistently though.

This is the reason where a player cannot be selected just based on stats in domestic cricket, people with similar averages might be ranging from mediocre to talented players, depending on their home grounds, opposing teams, umpiring which is awful in domestic games as LBW is not given out enough by umpires. It is easy to spot potential, how does he play against the good bowlers, where he scored runs, under what conditions, strike rate , stroke play, temperament. That is why Badrinath has good domestic record but a mediocre player. Same for bowlers,Sumit Narwal, Sudhindra, Yo Mahesh, these guys can take wickets against weak batsmen, do they have pace, seam , swing, example Aravind he might take wickets in Domestic but will not take too many in international cricket. The selectors have faltered recently in selecting unfit or players with no international class to be in the Indian team , Unadkat,VK. SO WHEN SELECTORS DARE TO PICKUP PLAYERS BASED ON POTENTIAL AND PEOPLE COMPLAIN THEN THEY DON'T KNOW ENOUGH,UMESH , VARUN , RAHUL , ROHIT, maybe Shami, Anwar Ahmed, Gony , if they have the talent then stats alone should not be an indicator,Cummins has just played 3 domestic games and he is playing for Australia,I would rather have selectors pick up players based on talent then picking up mediocre players based on stats that most arm chair critics rant and rave about.
