Sachin=GOD
The next match which Neo will show is Rajasthan vs UP from 29th Nov. Disappointing choice. They have already shown a match each of Rajasthan (Irani Trophy) and UP (vs Punjab). Should have picked Haryana vs Bengal or Karnataka vs Saurashtra. :yess: Link to comment

Result-oriented venues : 2 results out of 3 matches Mohali : Quick & Karnail Singh Stadium : Low and Low Players to watch Harbhajan Singh: needed strong performance 2 stay in the mix for the Oz tour. He has just 2 wkts from 3 matches Irfan Pathan: he Baroda bowler looks on the comeback trail. He has looked good so far with 15 wickets in three matches. ABHINAV MUKUND: The southpaw has strengthened his chances of being on the Oz tour. He has hit a 200 & missed out on ton by a run SURESH RAINA: The left-hander, who has also lost his place in the Test squad, smashed a double ton against Punjab Here a blog to tell us about the performances till now. Analysis On Ranji Trophy 2011-12 Round 3 Round 3 of the Ranji Trophy has been completed and letÃÔ have a look at the top performers from the Elite and Plate group. Top 5 batting performances from the Elite Group Right handed batsman: Manoj Tiwary scored his career best 267 and his second ton of the season. He tops the run charts for the RHB followed by Parvinder Singh of UP who also scored his 2nd ton of the season and the 7th of his 35 match first class career so far, Mandeep Singh of Punjab who has had a decent run of form in the domestic circuit starting with the Challenger Trophy. Mandeep Singh has scored 3 first class tons in his 10 match career so far and has shown promise to be a future Indian prospect, latest test call up Rohit Sharma and KB Pawan from Karnataka. Left handed batsman: Abhishek Nayar coming back from an injury layoff has done remarkably well to score 243 and 191 in 2 innings that he has played so far. Ashok Menaria the promising former India U19 captain has carried off his good batting form from last season. Ravindra Jadeja who became the latest triple centurion also remains in the top 5 of our LHB performers. Amit Verma the southpaw from Karnataka continues to be a handy batsman at no 6, giving the team much needed batting solidity in the middle order. Top 5 bowling performances from the Elite Group Pace Bowlers: Irfan Pathan is back among the wickets column which would be very pleasing for the Indian team management. Has already picked up 2 five wicket hauls from 4 innings. It's just a matter of time to see if he stays consistent and if he can work his way back into the Indian team. Spin Bowlers: KP Appanna finds himself at the top of the wicket takers list after being an understudy to the former Indian spinner Sunil Joshi for more than 3 seasons. He is also shouldering the main spinner role in the Karnataka squad and the teamÃÔ progress depends heavily on their bowlers. 4 left arm spinners make the cut out of our top 5 spinners list at the end of round 3 of the Ranji Trophy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope we do unearth few good bowlers though. Absence of Chahar, Mithun etc from the list show that young pacers unearthed are not that talented to sustain themselves through seasons. Jadeja is not picking up enough number of wickets stamp his authority in FC cricket. Link to comment
rajmarie
^ You have to take the above performance...as ok type. I have seen some of the ranji games...& most of the runs were on tracks which were not helping the bowlers....plus some bowlers picking quite a lot of wickets against batsman...who dont have proper technique...to survive even on these low wickets... (I saw of the Irfan delivery...which got him LBW wicket...barely rise after pitching). Dont know what kind of cricketers BCCI are trying to create here. Heck..these players will not survive in IPL also (maybe BCCI are looking to create existing IPL "B" teams which will have these players). Sorry...but really pissed off lately with BCCI Link to comment
Sooda
Has Nayyar been bowling much? he seems a decent bat. Scored a ton vs Saffies too in a tour match. Link to comment
Feed
Pandey blow to Karnataka : Manish Pandey in doubt for rest of Ranji season after hernia operation More... India domestic news Manish Pandey in doubt for Ranji season after hernia operation ESPNcricinfo staff November 27, 2011 Manish Pandey scored a double-century against Mumbai in the third-round of the Ranji Trophy 2011-12 Manish Pandey, the Karnataka batsman, could miss the rest of the Ranji Trophy season after undergoing a hernia operation in Bangalore. Pandey scored his second first-class double-century in Karnataka's third-round match against Mumbai at the Brabourne Stadium but felt pain during the innings, as well as while fielding later in the drawn match. He consulted doctors on his return to Bangalore, was advised an immediate hernia surgery and will now need four to six weeks of rest. "It's really unfortunate," Karnataka's chairman of selectors J Abhiram told Deccan Herald. "He was in great form and was being noticed by everyone. The injury couldn't have come at a worse time." Pandey was the fifth highest run-getter in last year's Ranji Trophy, with 629 runs from eight matches including two centuries. He was prolific during the Duleep Trophy too, scoring 329 runs in three innings, including his maiden first-class double-hundred. Karun Nair, a 19-year-old batsman yet to make his first-class debut, will be Pandey's replacement for Karnataka's next match, against Saurashtra from November 29. Nair has been picked on the back of a century for KSCA Colts XI against Rajasthan Cricket Association XI in the Shafi Darashah Tournament in July- August 2011. "Karun has been in fine form this year, and so we decided to give him the opportunity," Abhiram said. "We also discussed Lokesh Rahul and Kunal Kapoor and I am sure they will get their chances too in the near future." Ganesh Satish, the midde-order batsman, will captain Karnataka against Saurashtra in the absence of R Vinay Kumar, who has been selected for India's ODI series against West Indies. The squad: Ganesh Satish (capt), Robin Uthappa, Pavan KB, Bharath Chipli, Amit Verma, Stuart Binny, CM Gautham (wk), Sunil Raju, Abhimanyu Mithun, S Arvind, KP Appanna, Akshay SL, SK Moinuddin, KJ Gowtham, Karun Nair. Feed
Yusuf Pathan may miss rest of Ranji season More... India news Yusuf Pathan may miss rest of Ranji season Siddhartha Talya November 27, 2011 Yusuf Pathan picked up a knee injury while fielding against Haryana Yusuf Pathan, the India and Baroda allrounder, is in doubt for the remainder of the Ranji Trophy season after suffering a knee injury. Yusuf hurt his knee while taking a diving catch off the bowling of Irfan Pathan during Baroda's third-round game against Haryana. "We have lost Yusuf Pathan due to a knee injury. He might need around four to eight weeks of rest," the Baroda coach Sanath Kumar told ESPNcricinfo. Yusuf hasn't made an impact yet this first-class season. He has scores of 9, 10 and 23 so far in the Ranji Trophy 2011-12 and has picked up just one wicket. Baroda's concerns don't end there. Their opening seamer Murtuja Vahora, too, is injured and will be out of action for their next game against Delhi that starts on November 29. Vahora, who picked up a five-for against Haryana, injured his thigh while attempting a sweep. "It's a big blow but the replacements are pretty good," Sanath said. Replacing Vahora is allrounder Abhijit Karambelkar. "He's done very well in the Under-22. He's already scored a century and has two five wicket-hauls and is a good medium-pace allrounder," Sanath said. The offspinning allrounder Utkarsh Patel has been called up in place of Yusuf. Baroda, the runners-up in the Ranji Trophy last year, have had mixed results in the first few rounds of this Ranji Trophy. Their opening game against Tamil Nadu was virtually rained out, they beat Madhya Pradesh comprehensively in the second round and conceded a first-innings lead in the drawn game against Haryana.
